Li Xian & Li Yitong Reunite in Twisty New Republican Drama "Chang Feng Qi" — Suspense, Secrets & Sparks Fly Again! |
It’s reunion szn and we’re here for it! Li Xian and Li Yitong are officially back together on screen after nearly six years, and no, you’re not dreaming — it’s really happening!
The two stars, who had fans swooning back in Sword Dynasty (2019), have teamed up once again for a brand new Republican-era drama called Chang Feng Qi (长风起), which just kicked off filming with a boot ceremony on May 1.
This time around, it’s not just historical fantasy — we’re diving into full-on suspense and mystery with a side of will-they-won’t-they romance.
Directed by Yang Lei (yep, the same one behind Three Body), Chang Feng Qi follows the rich, broody Shangguan Chengming (played by Li Xian) and the strong-willed opera troupe star Jiang Feiyan (Li Yitong) as they get entangled in a dark family mystery.

Someone’s picking off Shangguan’s family members one by one, and the unlikely duo team up to crack the case.
Cue the secrets, scandals, and slow-burn tension.
Visually? A feast. Chemistry? Already sizzling.
While Li Yitong has had her fair share of dashing male leads, and Li Xian’s on-screen matchups (think Liu Yifei in Meet Yourself, or Yang Zi in Flourished Peony) have been major hits, this pairing just has that something.
Their energy in Sword Dynasty was electric, and now in a more mature, suspense-driven setting? Sign us up.
The drama, originally called Jiang Xiang I, is adapted from Yi Zhi’s novel Wo Shi Ge Suanming Xiansheng (我是个算命先生), which loosely translates to I Am a Fortune Teller — sounds like a wild ride already, right?
Chang Feng Qi isn’t just banking on the star power of its leads either.
The supporting cast is stacked, with veteran actor Wu Gang taking on a special lead role, and appearances from Liu Guanlin, Guo Jinglin, Hai Yitian, Liang Tian, Yue Yang, Yang Yiwei, Zhang Jingwei and Zhang Xiaoqian. Basically, it's a star-studded lineup that screams quality.
No word yet on the airing date, but with this cast, director, and juicy storyline, you might want to start clearing space in your drama watchlist now.
