From K-pop to Class Prefects? BTOB Turns Heads in Malaysian School Uniforms! (X/Twitter) |
It’s not every day you see your fave K-pop idols dressed like they’re about to attend assembly in Kuala Lumpur — but BTOB just pulled it off, and fans are loving it.
Over the weekend, the boys of BTOB showed up to their fansign event in Seoul looking a little different — smart, sharp and oddly nostalgic — dressed in proper Malaysian school uniforms!
The event was held to celebrate their latest release, “BTODAY”, and as with most K-pop fansigns, fans love gifting idols fun outfits and props to spice things up.

This time, a group of creative Malaysian Melodys (that’s BTOB’s fandom, if you’re new here) decided to take things up a notch.
They custom-made actual Malaysian school uniforms — right down to the name tags and a bespoke school logo designed just for BTOB. And when the members stepped out in them? Cue the online meltdown.

Eunkwang, Hyunsik, Minhyuk and Peniel each wore the white school shirt and striped tie combo like total pros. Peniel even went all in and wore the iconic green trousers — absolute commitment!
The uniforms looked so legit, some fans joked it felt like they were about to hear the school bell and be told off for forgetting homework. According to one of the fans behind the project, Reena, the whole idea started after a friend managed to snag a spot at the fansign.
At first, they thought about using a random school badge, but that didn’t feel right — so instead, they roped in another fan to help create a custom school crest and motto inspired by BTOB themselves. Talk about going the extra mile.
They didn’t stop there either — the team added official-looking name tags and even included a Malaysian flag to stay true to the school uniform standards. Once everything was done, the uniforms were flown over to Seoul and handed to the members at the event.
The response? Off the charts. Local fans couldn’t get enough of it, flooding social media with screenshots and memes.

Some even said they’d consider doing something similar for their own favourite groups in future.

Honestly, with that level of thought and effort, who could blame them?

Massive kudos to the Melodys who pulled this off — not only did you make the boys smile, but you also gave the fandom one of the most iconic fansign moments we’ve seen in ages.
Here’s hoping BTOB keeps those uniforms — you never know when they’ll need to head back to (Malaysian) school again!
