Pretty Woman’ The Musical Japan Debut Set for January – Yu Shirota, Madoka Hoshikaze and Takuto Teranishi Join the Cast

Big news for musical fans in Japan! The highly anticipated Pretty Woman The Musical is finally coming to Tokyo and Osaka with an exciting all-Japanese cast. 

The production will run from January to March 2026 at Tokyo's Tokyu Theatre Orb and Osaka's Orix Theatre, and it's set to make a big splash!

Taking on the lead role of Vivian Ward, the iconic protagonist of the original 1990 hit film, will be none other than Madoka Hoshikaze and Meimi Tamura

Both stars will bring their powerful vocals and acting chops to the stage, offering a fresh, new take on the character—one that’s brimming with determination and strength. 

Fans are eagerly anticipating how they’ll portray the fierce and independent woman who grabs life by the horns!

In a perfect match, Yu Shirota will play the role of Edward Lewis, the charming yet troubled businessman who falls head over heels for Vivian.

Yu Shirota’s got the charisma and depth to bring this iconic role to life, and it’s bound to be a standout performance.

But that’s not all – the cast also includes Takuto Teranishi from timelesz, who will take on the role of Stucky, Edward’s unscrupulous business partner. 

Teranishi’s portrayal of a morally ambiguous lawyer promises to add some thrilling drama to the story, flipping the script on his usual charming public image.

And let’s not forget the mystery man, Happy Man, played by Spi and Shoichi Fukui, who will add some intriguing flair to the production. 

Plus, Vivian's supportive friend Kit will be portrayed by Eliana and Nicole Ishida.

The Pretty Woman musical has been a global hit since its Broadway debut in 2018, and now, with an all-star Japanese cast, it’s sure to capture the hearts of audiences all over Japan.
