Mobius: Bai Jingting Back to Time Travel Thrillers
New sci-fi drama 'Mobius' sees Bai Jingting racing against time

Bai Jingting clearly isn’t done playing with time.

Fresh off the lingering buzz of Reset, the actor is stepping right back into the chaos of sci-fi thrillers with Mobius — a new (16-episodes) mystery drama that sees him tackling time travel once again, but with even higher stakes.

In Mobius, Bai plays Ding Qi, a sharp-witted police detective with one heck of a curse-slash-gift: the ability to reset time — but only five times a day.

That gives him exactly five chances to solve a case before the day resets and potentially ends in disaster… as in, a literal explosion that wipes out his team.

So yeah, no pressure.

If Reset had you gripping your seat with that never-ending bus explosion, Mobius takes the same idea and ups the ante — now, Bai Jingting's got to outwit a mysterious criminal who seems to be one step ahead at every turn.

The question on everyone's mind? Is the baddie also a looper?

The Chinese title Bu Mian Ri roughly translates to “Sleepless Day”, which is bang on.

When you’re racing against the clock on repeat, sleep’s just not part of the job description.

Ding Qi is constantly on edge, chasing fragments of clues across each repeat, trying desperately to piece the puzzle together before time runs out. Again. And again.

Joining Bai in the madness is Janice Man (yes, Lost in the Stars queen herself), playing An Lan — a composed, brainy biologist who becomes a key player in cracking the case.

Also in the main cast is Song Yang, while Liu Yijun, Thai star Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying (aka Aokbab), and Hong Kong’s Ricky Chan Po Yuen make special appearances.

The series is a joint production between iQIYI, Youhug, and Leben Wenhua, and it’s already sounding like another gripping, edge-of-your-seat ride.

Sci-fi, explosions, brain games, and Bai Jingting stuck in a never-ending bad day — we’re in.
