Michelle Chen (Chen Yanxi) has seemingly addressed the swirling romance rumours via her personal social media.
Sharing snaps from the premiere of her new film The Open Door (人生开门红), Michelle highlighted a line from the movie she particularly liked: "Fake is fake, it can't become real."

Fans reckon this wasn’t just about the film — it looked very much like a subtle clapback at the recent dating gossip.
Just a day earlier, gossip sites went wild after Michelle was photographed having dinner with a man sporting a buzz cut.
Sharp-eyed netizens couldn't help but point out that the mystery man's features bore a striking resemblance to Michelle Chen's ex-husband, actor Chen Xiao.
The photos quickly went viral, stirring speculation that Michelle might be moving on romantically after her divorce earlier this year in February.

However, her management company, Youmi Entertainment, swiftly put the brakes on the rumour mill.
They issued a firm statement explaining that the man in question is actually Wang Xuannan, an artist from the same agency.
The dinner was simply a work-related meeting, arranged by a programme's production team, and not a secret date.

They also condemned the invasion of privacy and the baseless "creative storytelling" around the incident.
For now, Michelle Chen remains single and, according to those close to her, is focusing her energy on her young son, whom she shares with Chen Xiao.
Romance, it seems, isn’t at the top of her priorities — no matter how much the internet tries to pair her up.
