A 19-year-old girl has been arrested for attempting a robbery at a convenience store in Chiba.
Her reason? Feeling “massive inferiority” compared to her siblings.
The incident happened just past midnight on the 9th in Togane City.
Armed with a knife, the girl confronted the male store owner, telling him, “Hand over the money, or just call the police.”
Luckily, no one was hurt, and nothing was stolen.
Police officers arrived quickly, disarmed her, and arrested her on the spot for attempted robbery.
During questioning, she admitted to the crime, saying, “I’m the least educated among my four siblings. I struggle to connect with people, and my inferiority complex got the best of me.”
The case has sparked discussions about mental health and societal pressure on young people in Japan.
