Goto Maki’s New Photobook ‘flos’ Smashes Records!

Goto Maki Flos Hits No.1 in E-Photobook Sales

Goto Maki’s latest photobook flos is flying off the virtual shelves!

The electronic version has officially set a record as the highest-selling digital photobook ever, according to a survey by Media DO, a major e-book distributor.

At 39 years old, Goto is proving that she’s still a force to be reckoned with in the industry.

Released last November to celebrate her 25th debut anniversary, flos captures Goto in her most natural and confident state.

Fans have praised her breathtaking visuals, with many admiring her elegance and timeless beauty.

But it’s not just about her signature translucent glow—this photobook also features her in more intimate moments, such as unfastening her bra in front of a mirror, showing off a softer and more personal side.

Breaking Her Own Records

Media DO hasn’t disclosed the exact number of copies sold, but on 7 March, flos officially dethroned the previous record-holder—Goto’s own 2021 photobook ramus

This means she’s not just topping the charts, but she’s also outdoing herself with every release.

A publishing insider revealed that one major reason for flos's success is the ease of access through digital devices.

Many fans are buying both the print and electronic versions, with some preferring the digital format for its higher resolution and zoom capabilities.

Word-of-mouth has also played a big role, attracting buyers beyond her usual fanbase.

Print Sales Are Booming Too!

It’s not just the e-book that’s thriving—physical copies are selling fast as well.

While ramus required five reprints, flos has already reached ten, doubling the demand of its predecessor.

Goto’s popularity remains as strong as ever, with fans eager to own a piece of her artistry.

Upon hearing about the record-breaking sales, Goto was visibly shocked.

"Japan’s No.1? Really? I’m too happy!" she exclaimed.

She also expressed her deep gratitude, saying, "When I was making flos, I hoped it would reach as many people as possible. This means the world to me—thank you so much!"

More Unseen Shots Coming Soon?

With nearly 20,000 photos taken for flos, there are plenty of unseen shots left.

Recently, an exclusive winter-themed image from a shoot in Yamagata last February surfaced, giving fans a glimpse of the breathtaking moments that didn’t make the final cut.

Who knows? Maybe more bonus content is on the way!

For now, flos continues its record-breaking streak, and Goto Maki’s reign in the photobook world shows no signs of slowing down.
