Zhang Jiayuan’s acting career nearly ended before it even began—all thanks to Zhang Ziyi.
The INTO1 idol turned actor found himself abruptly kicked off the stage on Actors Please Take Your Place 3, leaving him with some serious soul-searching to do.
On the latest episode, Zhang Ziyi—never one to sugarcoat—lost patience with the 22-year-old and shut him down mid-performance.
"Don't say anything anymore, just get off," she snapped.
Her issue?
Zhang Jiayuan’s performance lacked sincerity, and his attitude towards acting felt too casual, as if it were a backup plan rather than a serious craft.
Things started well enough.
With his guitar in hand, Jiayuan impressed the mentors initially.
But once the acting began, the mood shifted.
His attempt at comedy, a self-aware take on idol life, didn’t sit well with Zhang Ziyi.
His casual approach—implying acting was just another industry perk for idols—was met with visible disappointment.
Post-episode, Zhang Jiayuan took to social media to apologise. "I should have treated acting with reverence," he admitted.
Reflecting on his mistakes, he vowed to approach the craft with more humility and professionalism.
