Chen Xingxu & Lu Yuxiao's New Drama Blurs Fantasy & Reality. Chen Xingxu’s NPC Role Hides a Big Secret in Ya Xi!
Chen Xingxu and Lu Yuxiao are set to lead the upcoming Chinese drama Ya Xi (LX), which has officially started filming.
Adapted from the web novel Juggling Roles by Zu Le, the story takes a dive into the world of role-playing games with a touch of romance and mystery.
Lu Yuxiao plays Hu Xiu, a city girl with no luck in love.
That all changes when she enters a script-based RPG called Snowpiercer and meets a mysterious NPC, Qin Xiaoyi.
Captivated by him, she finds herself eager to interact with him at every turn.
But here’s the twist—Qin Xiaoyi isn’t just a game character.

He’s actually actor Xiao Zhiyu, played by Chen Xingxu, who sees this as just another acting gig.
Meanwhile, Hu Xiu’s friend, Zhao Xiaorou, treats love as a game, believing that catching feelings means losing.
The drama is directed by Mao De Shu and produced by Linmon Pictures.
Interestingly, this project reunites Lu Yuxiao with the director, who was the executive producer of See You Tomorrow (2022), where she played the second lead.
The cast also includes Dai Xu (listed as a special star), Li Tingting, and Ren Youlun.
While the concept of fiction and reality colliding isn’t new, it’ll be interesting to see how Ya Xi handles it.
