Former NGT48 darling Homma Hinata is making waves again with her third photobook, プレパレーション (Preparation), dropping on 14 February 2025.
But with J-pop idols only getting photobooks when management is sure they’ll sell, some are wondering—is she really that popular?
The 25-year-old ex-idol, who left NGT48 in April 2024, called this release a "surprise present" for fans.

Shot in the stunning scenery of Bali, Indonesia, this photobook is her most vibrant one yet.
“I hope everyone will say, ‘This is amazing!’” she shared.
Photobooks are a big deal in the idol world.
They don’t just happen; management studies fan enthusiasm and market demand before greenlighting them.
So the fact that Homma is already on her third suggests she still has a strong pull.
Her previous books, Zutto, Aitakatta (2021) and Hizashi Iro (Jan 2024), did well.
But can she repeat the success? Some fans are hyped, others sceptical.
