Zhang Linghe has sparked interest after expressing admiration for Yang Zi’s work in the ongoing drama Flourished Peony, which she stars in alongside Li Xian.
The drama is currently airing on Mango TV and is also available with English subtitles on Viki.
In an interview with Sina News, Zhang Linghe, who is promoting his new drama Chasing Jade with Tian Xiwei, admitted to following Flourished Peony.
He shared, "I hope to collaborate with strong stars like Yang Zi."
His remarks gained traction among Chinese netizens, especially given the drama's overlap with Moonlight Mystique, starring Bai Lu.
Zhang Linghe's focus on Yang Zi’s drama has been interpreted as avoiding reigniting rumours about him and Bai Lu, with whom he was linked romantically after their pairing in Story of Kunning Palace.
