| The Amazing Race 39: What Ali Krieger, Daisha Wilks and More Are Doing Now. |
The Amazing Race 39 contestants have gone back to very different lives after racing more than 25,000 miles across five continents, nine countries and 13 cities. From retired footballers and military officers to engineers, doctors, creators and newlyweds, the cast had plenty going on before CBS sent them around the world, and most have continued along those same paths since filming wrapped. A few, however, have had rather major life updates, including one couple who got married just before the season premiered and another preparing to welcome their first child.
Ali Krieger and Joanna Lohman remain closely connected to sport, although neither is competing professionally anymore. Krieger retired from football in 2023 after captaining Gotham Football Club to the NWSL Championship, adding another achievement to a career that already included a Champions League title, Olympic experience and two World Cup victories with the United States.
These days, Krieger has moved comfortably into the media and business side of football. She works as a co-host and soccer analyst on ESPN's Futbol W, serves as an ambassador for Gotham Football Club and has become involved in business advising and investment. She is also raising her two children and continues to be associated with brands and organisations including League One Volleyball, Hello Divorce and Crux Football Player Investor Collective. Her long-term ambition of owning a women's football, hockey or basketball team is still part of the picture.
Lohman has taken a similarly broad route since retiring in 2019 following spells with the US national team and several professional clubs. The 44-year-old is now an author, performance coach, public speaker and sports diplomat, with her work extending into human rights and mental health advocacy. She co-wrote Raising Tomorrow's Champions with Paul Tukey in 2021 and has since added several professional roles, including work with Limitless Minds, Electives and Yale School of Management. She also co-hosts The Riley & Jo Show. Away from work, Lohman is married to Melodie George, and the couple have a young daughter.
Ann-Marie and Riley Tejcek entered the race as a mother-daughter team looking for something that would push them far outside their normal routines. Their professional lives remain just as demanding after the cameras stopped following them.
Ann-Marie, 56, continues to work at Eli Lilly & Company, where she has served as Vice President of Global Medical Affairs Strategy & Operations since March 2023. Her connection with the company stretches back more than three decades, making her career there considerably longer than most reality television storylines. She also remains surrounded by her family, including her two daughters, their spouses and grandchildren, along with the family's latest furry addition.
Riley has arguably packed several careers into one life. The 29-year-old played Division I softball at George Washington University before moving into bobsled, where she competed as a pilot from 2020 through 2025. She won gold at the 2025 North America Cup and was part of Team USA's Olympic programme. She is also a children's book author, public speaker and US Marine Captain, and currently works as a Marine Recruiting Officer. Her life away from work has changed too, with husband and fellow family responsibilities now taking centre stage after the birth of her son, Miles David, in August 2026.
Anuar Tager and Andrea Tager Ballesca came into the race with a father-daughter relationship shaped by years of distance and different life paths. Andrea had grown up watching The Amazing Race, so competing alongside her father was something of a full-circle moment. The experience appears to have strengthened their relationship, particularly by encouraging a greater level of openness between them.
Anuar, 58, has largely kept his life private since returning home and continues his career as a developer in Houston, Texas. He separated from Andrea's mother when Andrea was three and has generally kept his personal affairs away from public attention. Andrea, meanwhile, is following a demanding medical career. The 25-year-old previously worked as an EMT, CPR instructor and surgical technologist and is now pursuing an MD at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She also volunteers as a surgical technologist with Faith In Practice in Guatemala and contributes to global emergency medicine research at Brown University. Apparently, travelling around the world wasn't enough homework.
Cody Langlois and Jaime Tribo have also returned to careers that keep them busy, although their professional worlds look very different from each other. The siblings had been trying to get onto the programme since around 2023, making their eventual Season 39 appearance the result of a fairly long wait.
Cody, 36, built his career around civil engineering after earning both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Arizona State University between 2013 and 2016. He now works at construction company Flatiron Dragados, where he has been based since 2023. The Long Beach resident is also interested in sustainability, property investment and acting, with screen credits including Triple Life with My Billionaire Crush and My Secret Agent Husband 2. Engineering by day, acting by night — apparently one job was never going to be enough.
Jaime has built her own career around nutrition and wellness. After studying Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Services at Western Illinois University and completing a master's degree at Eastern Illinois University, she worked across medical and treatment settings before moving further into digital content. The 33-year-old is now a Registered Dietitian at Nourish and an Adjunct Nutrition Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago. She also shares parts of her life online while balancing work with her husband, Jonnathan “Jonny” Tribo, and their two children, Kai and Anya.
Conner Wilson and Garrett McGuire remain focused on their own ambitions after treating the race as much as an adventure as a competition. The childhood best friends from Placer County, California, had known each other since they were three, which gave them decades of experience working out how to tolerate one another — a useful qualification when you're exhausted and lost somewhere on the other side of the world.
Conner is developing a career as an artist and content creator, documenting builds, road trips and car-camping adventures while working towards a lifestyle based on travelling and living on the road. One of his more recent adventures covered 7,000 miles from Tecate, Mexico, to Hyder, Alaska, in a Geo Metro convertible without booking a single hotel. That is either impressive dedication or a very creative definition of accommodation.
Garrett has taken a more conventional engineering route. After completing bachelor's and master's degrees in agricultural and water engineering at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, he joined Sherwood Design Engineers as a Design Engineer in 2022. The 27-year-old continues that career while maintaining his relationship with Madison Grigsby.
Dafina and Saran Dunmore are still pursuing very different careers while maintaining the close sisterly relationship that made them such a natural race partnership. The Chicago sisters describe themselves as best friends as much as siblings, and their decision to compete together was rooted in that unusually close bond.
Dafina, 52, has spent much of her professional life in finance. After earning bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she worked as a financial analyst and stock analyst before joining Fitch Ratings. She has been a Senior Director there since April 2021, providing analytical leadership across multiple sectors. Outside finance, she has also developed a second identity as a DJ, mixing Chicago house with afrobeats, disco and modern jazz.
Saran's career has taken her into fitness, entrepreneurship and youth development. The Middle Tennessee State University graduate previously worked as a personal trainer on MTV's I Used To Be Fat and as a fitness reporter at NBCUniversal. She later founded Kids Leading Kids, an active-lifestyle leadership academy, and expanded that work through KLK Fest. Her daughter, Sanaa, is now 11 and remains a major source of inspiration for her work and ambitions.
Daisha Wilks and Dalton Hamby have perhaps had one of the biggest personal updates since appearing on the show. The couple entered the race after dating for about a year and a half, already sharing a love of travel and a long list of adventures. Dalton was adopted from the Philippines as a child, and the pair had previously travelled there together.
They became engaged in December 2025 before marrying on September 29, 2026, one day before their season premiered. The couple announced that they were officially the Hambys through their joint Instagram account, turning their Amazing Race adventure into a rather unconventional honeymoon prequel.
Both graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2022, studying biology and emergency management respectively, but their working lives have moved in another direction. They co-own Dhamby Productions and work as videographers, producing audio-visual material for businesses, weddings, organisations and social media. They also document their own travels online and have visited 32 countries according to their current travel count.
Doug and Dylan Matter remain a particularly close grandfather-grandson pair, despite a 54-year age gap. Doug, 73, spent more than three decades as a firefighter and became the eighth chief of the La Mesa Fire Department in 1998 before eventually retiring in the 2000s.
Retirement clearly hasn't translated into sitting quietly in a chair. Doug continues to spend time with his wife of more than 52 years, Debra Matter, as well as his children and grandchildren. Hiking, mountain biking, running and surfing remain part of the family's active routine. Dylan, meanwhile, is 19 and studying Public Relations, Advertising and Applied Communication at the University of Southern California. The fact that the pair could keep pace with each other on the race says quite a lot about how active this family actually is.
Erin Taylor and Javi Vintimilla are entering an entirely different stage of their lives after the race. Erin had watched The Amazing Race since she was 10 and persuaded Javi to apply as a birthday present in 2024. The couple married on November 16 that year and were accepted for the competition in January 2025.
Their reason for taking part was bigger than collecting passport stamps. They wanted to test how well they could communicate under pressure while travelling together, particularly as they were already thinking about starting a family. Now that the race is behind them, that plan has moved considerably closer to reality. The Fort Lauderdale couple are expecting a baby boy around mid-November 2026.
Professionally, Erin works in human resources after studying Hospitality Management at Florida State University, while 30-year-old Javi is an aviation professional and pilot. He previously worked as a Human Resources Director at Ultimate Jet Vacations from 2023, before continuing his career in aviation. Between marriage, a new baby and a global reality competition, the pair have certainly managed to keep their calendar busy.
Looking at the cast after The Amazing Race 39, what stands out is how little their lives can be reduced to what happened during the competition. The show compresses people into teams, challenges and race positions, but outside it they are building careers, raising children, studying medicine, serving in the military, creating businesses and, in some cases, simply trying to get through an ordinary week without having to sprint to a clue box.
There is also something amusingly appropriate about how many contestants returned from a race built around constant movement and immediately went back to careers that demand just as much energy. Some found new professional directions, while others stayed firmly on the paths they had already chosen. And with weddings, babies, new jobs and ambitious personal projects now part of the picture, their post-race lives may be just as interesting as the competition itself.
For viewers, Season 39 is therefore less a “where did they disappear to?” story and more a look at what happened once the passports were put away. Ali and Joanna remain involved in sport, Ann-Marie and Riley continue their demanding careers, Andrea is working towards medicine, Cody and Jaime are building separate professional profiles, while Daisha and Dalton have gone from race partners to newlyweds. Erin and Javi are preparing to become parents, too. With so many different directions after the finish line, which contestant's life after The Amazing Race 39 surprised you most?
