Kill Jackie has finished its first season, but the story leaves enough room for another round of trouble. AMC has not renewed Kill Jackie for Season 2, so there is no confirmed return date, episode count or new storyline at this stage. Still, the completed first season gives the Catherine Zeta-Jones-led thriller several possible routes forward, particularly after Jackie Price's battle with the Seven Demons. If AMC decides that one season of international chaos, expensive art and extremely inconvenient assassins is not quite enough, Jackie has plenty of unfinished business to deal with.
The eight-part series follows Jackie Price, a former cocaine dealer who spent two decades building a respectable new life as a successful art dealer. That carefully managed existence collapses when the Seven Demons, an elite group of contract killers, are sent after her. Rather than disappear quietly, Jackie returns to the skills she thought she had left behind and begins hunting the people coming for her.
By the end of Season 1, the central conflict has largely played out, which is important when considering Kill Jackie Season 2. This is not a series that can simply repeat the same formula with another list of assassins and expect the joke to remain fresh. Jackie has already survived the immediate threat, and another season would need to give her a different problem rather than simply changing the names on the hit list.
That does not mean the door is closed. In fact, the first season's premise gives the writers several ways to continue the story. Jackie could become involved in a much wider criminal network, face people connected to her old life, or find herself dealing with the consequences of dismantling the operation that came after her. The most interesting option would probably be to make Jackie the target of a new conspiracy while allowing her unusual partnership with Sam and Charlie to remain at the centre of the story.
Kill Jackie Season 2 could therefore move beyond the Seven Demons entirely. The first season is based on Nick Harkaway's novel The Price You Pay, written under his Aidan Truhen pseudonym, so a second season would have to develop a new television storyline rather than simply continue adapting the same finite assassination plot. That gives the writers considerable freedom, although it also means they would have to come up with a threat worthy of Jackie.
There is plenty of potential in the world the first season establishes. Jackie has spent years presenting herself as a sophisticated art dealer with a carefully protected life, while her past as an international smuggler never really disappeared.
A second season could push that contradiction much further. Her criminal history could become useful again, or it could become the very thing that prevents her from building a normal life. Either way, Jackie is hardly the sort of person who gets to enjoy a quiet retirement twice.
The supporting characters could also give a second season its own identity. Daniel Ings' Sam and Hattie Hook's Charlie could return alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, assuming the story keeps the trio together. Their contrasting personalities provide some of the show's darker comedy, particularly when ordinary logistical problems collide with Jackie being chased by professional killers. Tax paperwork is stressful enough without somebody trying to murder your client.
The tone would likely remain another important part of any continuation. Kill Jackie mixes crime thriller mechanics with action, dark comedy and a deliberately extravagant international setting.
A second season could retain that formula while moving the story into a different corner of the criminal underworld. London, Lisbon, Bilbao and Swansea established a suitably broad playground for Jackie, and there is no shortage of places where the next disaster could find her.
As for the Kill Jackie Season 2 release date, there is currently nothing official to announce. If AMC and its production partners eventually approve another season, the writing, casting, filming and post-production process would take time. A late 2027 or early 2028 return would be a reasonable production-window possibility if a renewal arrived towards the end of 2026, but that is an estimate rather than an announced schedule.
The same applies to the cast. There have been no official Season 2 casting announcements because the series has not been renewed. Catherine Zeta-Jones would naturally be expected to return as Jackie if the story continues, while Daniel Ings and Hattie Hook could potentially reprise Sam and Charlie. A new storyline would also give the production room to introduce an entirely different group of characters rather than bringing back the assassins whose stories were tied to Season 1.
The renewal question is also slightly complicated by the kind of show Kill Jackie is. The first season was designed around a contained thriller story, rather than an obviously open-ended television universe. That makes a second season less straightforward. A successful first run can certainly encourage a continuation, but the writers would need a convincing reason for Jackie to return rather than stretching a finished story simply because the first one worked.
There is also the practical issue of the cast and production schedule. Zeta-Jones is the centre of the series, while the international production involves a sizeable ensemble and multiple locations. Bringing everyone back would require the right timing and a story worth the logistical effort. In other words, getting Jackie into another impossible situation is easy; getting the entire television production back into position is considerably less so.
My view is that Season 2 would work better as a fresh chapter than as a direct continuation of Season 1's assassin hunt. Repeating the Seven Demons formula would risk making the series feel like it was ticking boxes rather than developing Jackie. The more interesting possibility is to explore what happens after someone spends an entire season destroying the people trying to destroy her. Jackie has survived, but survival does not magically erase her past.
A new season could examine the power vacuum she creates, the people who benefited from her disappearance and the uncomfortable question of whether she can ever genuinely walk away from that world. It would also leave room for the show's dry humour, because apparently international crime, murder plots and tax accountants make for a surprisingly workable team. Most importantly, a second season should give Jackie a new problem rather than simply handing her another list and saying, “Good luck with that.”
For now, Kill Jackie has not been renewed for Season 2, and there is no confirmed release date or official Season 2 plot.
