| Tires Season 4: Plot, Cast, Release Date Predictions and Everything We Expect Next |
Netflix’s Tires has left Shane and Will with arguably their biggest problem yet: they are finally in charge. After three seasons of questionable decisions, workplace chaos and enough automotive disasters to make a mechanic consider a career change, the pair now find themselves running the entire Valley Forge Auto chain. Add a new rival company, a major change in Shane’s personal life and several characters still waiting for their own storylines, and a potential Tires Season 4 already has plenty of material to work with.
Netflix has not officially renewed Tires for a fourth season at the time of writing, so there is no confirmed release date. However, the way season 3 ends leaves the door wide open for another chapter, and if a renewal arrives soon, 2027 would be a reasonable expectation for the series to return. Nothing is locked in yet, but the finale certainly behaves like a show that has more trouble waiting around the corner.
The biggest change going into a potential fourth season would be Shane and Will stepping into leadership across Valley Forge Auto. Their promotion is hardly the sort of smooth corporate succession story you might find in a serious business drama.
They have spent much of the series trying to keep one shop afloat, and suddenly they are responsible for an entire chain. That should create plenty of opportunities for the duo to discover that being the boss is considerably less entertaining when the problems become your responsibility.
A new rival business also appears ready to complicate matters. The arrival of another company threatens the progress Valley Forge Auto has made, giving season 4 an obvious central conflict if the series returns.
Shane and Will may have managed to survive plenty of previous obstacles, but competing against a serious rival while running multiple outlets would represent a very different challenge. Their ability to work together has always been one of the show's strengths, although whether that partnership survives increased pressure is another question entirely.
For Shane, there is an even bigger storyline waiting outside the garage. Lucy reveals that she is pregnant at the end of season 3, opening the door to an entirely different side of his character. After watching Shane operate as a mischievous mechanic and professional troublemaker, seeing him prepare for fatherhood could give the potential fourth season a more personal thread without taking away the comedy.
The prospect of Shane attempting to balance family responsibilities with running Valley Forge Auto sounds like exactly the sort of situation where absolutely nothing could possibly go wrong.
The other characters could also receive more room to develop. Will and Kilah undergo comparatively little transformation during the third season, which leaves plenty of space for season 4 to give them stronger individual stories.
Will, in particular, could benefit from having a storyline that moves beyond his partnership with Shane, especially now that the two are technically responsible for a much larger business operation.
Dave has already taken a significant step in a new direction, while Cal remains one of the characters whose personal life has been left comparatively unexplored. Cal's arrest during a police operation and subsequent clearing of his name created plenty of chaos, but the story never fully opened up what was happening with him away from the shop. A fourth season could use that gap to give Chris O’Connor’s character more depth while still keeping the show's trademark workplace absurdity intact.
The potential cast is likely to remain familiar if the series returns. Shane Gillis and Steve Gerben would be expected to lead the story again as Shane and Will, with Stavros Halkias returning as Dave, Kilah Fox as Kilah and Chris O’Connor as Cal. Sofia Hasmik, meanwhile, could become considerably more important as Lucy's storyline develops, particularly with Shane preparing for a major change in his personal life.
There is slightly more uncertainty around Jill, played by Taylor Misia. Her future involvement is less clear, while Phil, portrayed by Thomas Haden Church, could also have a reduced presence.
Phil's departure on what appears to be a sabbatical creates a genuine question about whether he will return as a regular character. Still, given his importance to the story, a cameo or limited appearance would hardly be surprising if Netflix orders another season.
Phil's departure could actually become one of the more interesting developments in a potential fourth season. His complicated history with Shane and Will has helped shape much of the show's generational tension, and removing him from the shop leaves the younger pair to make their own decisions without the familiar authority figure hovering nearby.
Whether that makes them better leaders or simply gives them more freedom to make spectacularly bad decisions is something Tires season 4 could have a lot of fun exploring.
Another area that deserves attention is the relationship between Kilah and Cal. The third season gives both characters moments that suggest larger stories could be coming, but neither receives quite the same level of development as Shane and Will.
Kilah's briefly teased romantic storyline disappears almost as quickly as it arrives, while Cal's experience with the police leaves more questions than answers. With Shane and Will now overseeing the wider Valley Forge operation, there should be plenty of room to move the supporting cast into the foreground.
Fans are likely to have mixed feelings about that direction. Some will want the series to stay focused on the chaotic Shane-and-Will partnership that made Tires work in the first place, while others may welcome more attention for Kilah, Cal, Lucy and the wider ensemble.
There is also the question of whether introducing a stronger rival would improve the show or make it feel too structured. Part of the appeal has always been watching characters stumble through problems with questionable confidence, so turning Valley Forge into a polished corporate machine would probably miss the point.
A potential Tires Season 4 therefore has several obvious paths to explore: Shane preparing for fatherhood, Will and Shane adjusting to leadership, a new competitor threatening Valley Forge Auto, Phil's uncertain future and greater stories for Kilah and Cal.
The challenge will be keeping those developments grounded in the loose, chaotic comedy that audiences have come to expect rather than turning the series into a workplace drama where everyone suddenly starts attending very serious management meetings.
For now, Tires season 4 remains unconfirmed, but the ending of season 3 gives Netflix plenty of reasons to keep the engines running. If the show does return, Shane and Will may finally discover that taking control of Valley Forge Auto was the easy part.
The real question is whether they can survive being responsible for it. Would you rather see Shane’s new life as a father take centre stage, or should Tires season 4 focus on the new rival and give Kilah and Cal bigger stories?
