While the film wraps up its main story, it also throws in a cheeky tease that has sparked fresh debate over whether Broken Lizard could eventually return with Super Troopers 4. Officially, nothing has been confirmed, but the ending has certainly made it difficult for fans to ignore the possibility.
The final joke feels like more than just another punchline. With Farva now officially becoming Thorny's brother-in-law after marrying Sarita, the franchise suddenly has an entirely new comedic dynamic ready to exploit. Rather than feeling like a complete farewell, the ending leaves the door slightly open, almost as if the troopers have parked their patrol car but forgotten to switch off the engine.
That tease has naturally fuelled plenty of speculation. Some viewers are convinced the ending was carefully designed to keep future options alive, while others see it exactly as Broken Lizard intended—a playful wink to loyal fans who have followed the franchise for decades. Either way, the conversation has become almost as entertaining as the film itself.
The comedy troupe has already explained that the post-credit message teasing another sequel was never meant to serve as an official announcement. Instead, they described it as a tongue-in-cheek attempt to "manifest" another instalment, jokingly hoping both audiences and Searchlight Pictures might eventually help turn the joke into reality.
Long-time fans will recognise the same approach from the fake Pot Fest teaser attached to Beerfest, which famously never materialised. That means Super Troopers 4 has not been officially renewed.
At the time of writing, neither Searchlight Pictures nor the filmmakers have announced another sequel. The ending may have reignited excitement, but enthusiasm alone does not automatically greenlight another film—although Hollywood has occasionally surprised everyone before.

The franchise itself has never followed a predictable release schedule. Without those five, many fans would argue it simply would not feel like Super Troopers anymore.
Newer additions would also be expected to return. Hannah Simone's Sarita has now become a central figure after marrying Farva, creating endless opportunities for awkward family gatherings and sibling rivalry.
Marisa Coughlan could continue as Ursula, while Andrew Dismukes and Chace Crawford would likely remain part of the expanding law enforcement team.
One familiar face who may not return in a major role is Brian Cox's Captain O'Hagan. Given both the actor's age and the character's gradual move away from frontline leadership, any future sequel would more likely reference him as a respected retired legend than place him back in the middle of another ridiculous investigation.
If Super Troopers 4 does happen, the story almost writes itself. The biggest source of comedy would undoubtedly revolve around Thorny dealing with the horrifying realisation that Farva is now officially family.
Holiday dinners, weddings, birthdays and every imaginable family gathering would become complete disasters, with Thorny desperately searching for increasingly ridiculous ways to avoid spending time with his loudest relative.
Meanwhile, Farva's attempts at married life could become one of the sequel's funniest running jokes. Watching one of cinema's most gloriously chaotic police officers suddenly trying to be a responsible husband sounds like exactly the kind of impossible challenge the franchise enjoys throwing at its characters.
The odds of domestic bliss surviving longer than five minutes? Probably lower than Farva resisting free food. Alongside the family chaos, another outrageous criminal investigation would almost certainly drive the main plot.
Following the running jokes established in the third film, the troopers could find themselves tangled in disputes involving cannabis dispensaries, cross-border smuggling operations or modern policing technology.
Considering the franchise's love of parody, artificial intelligence dispatch systems, drones or self-driving patrol cars could easily become the latest victims of the team's spectacular incompetence.
Fans remain divided over whether another sequel should even happen. Some believe Super Troopers 3 proves the franchise still has plenty of life left and argue there is enormous comic potential in exploring the new family relationships.
Others feel the ending provides a satisfying farewell, warning that constantly chasing more sequels risks turning a beloved comedy into an endless traffic stop that nobody asked for.
For now, the future of Super Troopers 4 remains firmly in the hands of commercial success rather than wishful thinking.
