Spooky In Love Episode 10 finally gives Cheon Yeo-ri and Ma Gang-wook the romantic breakthrough viewers have been waiting for, only to immediately throw a corporate crisis, a suspicious trip to Singapore and the long-buried mystery surrounding Kang Ji-hwan into the mix. What should have been a straightforward victory lap for the newly engaged couple instead becomes another exhausting round of shareholders, secret deals and half-remembered events on a yacht. Because apparently being haunted by spirits was not enough trouble for one hotel CEO.
The episode opens with the fallout from the emergency shareholders' meeting, as Cheon Ha-ri and Kang Min-hwan continue their efforts to push Yeo-ri out of her position at Reina Hotels. Their biggest advantage is the support of key board members, leaving Yeo-ri and Chairwoman Baek desperately searching for enough shares to retain control. The numbers are painfully close, with the pair falling short by just three per cent, turning the corporate battle into a race against time.
There is at least one bright spot amid all the boardroom manoeuvring. Yeo-ri and Gang-wook's relationship continues to move forward, and their engagement brings a rare sense of calm to an otherwise chaotic story.
Min-hwan watches Yeo-ri and Gang-wook together, while Hee-won unexpectedly returns and chooses to remain at a distance because of her connection to Yeo-ri's family. Her presence adds another layer of unanswered questions, particularly as Min-hwan becomes increasingly curious about why his mother is suddenly back.
The engagement itself gives Gang-wook and Yeo-ri a chance to celebrate properly. Gang-wook takes her to the moonlight bridge, where he reflects on the first time they held hands and how her unusual ability has ultimately brought them closer rather than driving them apart.
Yeo-ri also admits that she wants answers about what happened on the yacht, the incident that changed her life and seemingly triggered her ability to see spirits. Gang-wook promises to help her uncover the truth, making their relationship feel less like a convenient romance and more like a partnership built around a mystery neither of them can ignore.
Back at Reina Hotels, however, the mood is considerably less romantic. Gye-hee, Ha-ri and Dong-jun are gathering support for the emergency board meeting, while Yeo-ri tries to convince shareholders to remain on her side.
Manager Bong Ji-wook suggests using evidence concerning the alleged hidden funds against Gye-hee, but Yeo-ri knows that suspicion alone will not win a corporate battle. Without convincing proof, the accusation could easily become another weapon used against her.
That leads Yeo-ri towards Han Se-in, whose shares could potentially change the balance. Se-in is in Singapore for an art exhibition and hotel investment conference, prompting Yeo-ri to make the risky decision to travel there herself. The timing is hardly ideal, but with only three per cent separating victory from defeat, sitting comfortably in Seoul is not exactly an option.
Gang-wook initially worries about the trip and tries to find a way to accompany her, although Yeo-ri asks him to stay behind. He has his own workload at the Prosecutor's Office, but predictably cannot simply switch off his concern for her.
When he later discovers what is happening, he starts looking for a way to get to Singapore anyway. It is the sort of behaviour that would be wildly impractical in most workplaces, but Gang-wook has apparently decided that annual leave is just another form of detective equipment.
In Singapore, Yeo-ri finally meets Se-in and receives devastating news. Se-in has already sold her shares for twice their value to an unnamed buyer, leaving Yeo-ri with little room to negotiate.
The revelation is made worse when Yeo-ri discovers that Min-hwan was behind the deal, having persuaded Se-in to sell. His involvement makes the corporate struggle considerably more personal and strengthens the suspicion that his efforts to reclaim Yeo-ri are tied to his determination to control the situation around her.
The Singapore trip also brings Yeo-ri closer to the mystery of Ji-hwan's death. During an unsettling moment at the gala, someone falls into a swimming pool and the incident triggers another fragment of Yeo-ri's memory.
She remembers Ji-hwan giving her his talisman locket before entering the yacht cabin, followed by an argument between Ji-hwan and Min-hwan. Moments later, Ji-hwan fell into the ocean.
The memory is crucial because it does not completely match Min-hwan's recollection. His version suggests that Ji-hwan fell after the yacht struck a rock, presenting the incident as an accident rather than something caused by their confrontation. The two accounts leave a significant gap in the story, and that gap is where the series' central mystery continues to live.
Meanwhile, Gang-wook refuses to sit comfortably on the sidelines. After learning that Yeo-ri is searching for Se-in, he asks Hyeong-min to help locate her, with expensive sushi apparently serving as sufficient motivation for investigative assistance.
Eventually, Gang-wook heads to Singapore himself, arriving just as Yeo-ri is struggling with another setback. The episode ends with his unexpected appearance, giving the couple a much-needed reunion after the increasingly complicated Singapore operation.
The episode also quietly expands the family mystery through Hee-won, who reveals to Madam Paeng that Yeo-ri and Ji-hwan were schoolmates. Madam Paeng is shocked, particularly because Gang-wook had previously concealed Yeo-ri's birth year from her. That discovery suggests there are still important pieces of Yeo-ri's history that Gang-wook and the people around him have not fully understood.
The EP 10 ending works because the episode brings two separate conflicts closer together: Yeo-ri's fight for control of Reina Hotels and her attempt to understand what happened to Ji-hwan.
At first, these stories appear to be running on separate tracks, with one centred on shareholders and the other on ghosts and forgotten memories. By the end, however, Min-hwan is connected to both.
His deal with Se-in directly damages Yeo-ri's position at Reina, while his presence in Yeo-ri's memories of the yacht places him closer to the unanswered questions surrounding Ji-hwan's death.
The show still stops short of giving viewers a definitive answer, but it deliberately makes Min-hwan look increasingly suspicious. His admission to Ha-ri that he intends to keep trying to win Yeo-ri back does him absolutely no favours either.
The most intriguing part is Yeo-ri's relationship with Ji-hwan's spirit. Her supernatural ability appears to have begun after the yacht incident, and Ji-hwan has remained one of the most important spirits connected to her.
Yet his presence has become less obvious as the story has progressed. One possibility is that his role is not simply to frighten Yeo-ri but to guide her towards the truth she has been unable to remember.
That could also explain why Gang-wook may have received help from the supernatural side of the story when Yeo-ri was previously in danger. If Ji-hwan's spirit has been quietly protecting her, his disappearance may not mean his story is finished. It could instead mean that Yeo-ri is getting closer to discovering what really happened and no longer needs the same warnings.
The engagement gives the episode another important emotional layer. Yeo-ri and Gang-wook are finally able to acknowledge their relationship openly, but the timing is almost cruel.
Just as they reach a point of genuine happiness, the corporate battle becomes more dangerous and the mystery surrounding Ji-hwan becomes harder to ignore. The series seems determined to give this couple exactly five minutes of peace before throwing another problem through the window.
Spooky in Love Episode 10 is an uneven but increasingly intriguing chapter, largely because it tries to push several major storylines forward at once. The corporate struggle at Reina Hotels has urgency, while Yeo-ri and Gang-wook's relationship finally receives the emotional payoff it has been building towards.
The problem is that the episode sometimes feels as though it is sprinting between plot points rather than allowing any one development enough room to breathe. One moment Yeo-ri is dealing with shareholders, the next she is travelling to Singapore, then she is remembering the yacht, while Gang-wook is somehow arranging an international detour between shifts at the Prosecutor's Office. It is entertaining, but occasionally exhausting.
The strongest material comes from the mystery surrounding Ji-hwan and the conflicting memories of his death. Yeo-ri remembers the confrontation with Min-hwan, while Min-hwan remembers an accident caused by the yacht hitting a rock.
That contradiction gives the story something substantial to investigate beyond the romance and corporate politics. It also makes Min-hwan a more effective antagonist because the audience cannot quite tell whether he is deliberately hiding the truth or whether his own recollection is being shaped by guilt and fear.
The romantic scenes work better than expected because they are relatively simple. Gang-wook's matching gloves are a clever touch, turning Yeo-ri's unusual condition into something that can be accommodated rather than feared.
Their engagement and conversation about the yacht also establish them as partners who genuinely want to face the mystery together. Unfortunately, the episode then spends so much time moving characters around that the emotional momentum occasionally gets lost somewhere between Seoul and Singapore.
The result is a chapter that may frustrate some viewers while still leaving enough unanswered questions to make the next episode difficult to resist. Spooky In Love clearly knows that its biggest strength is the collision between romance, mystery and the supernatural, but Episode 10 sometimes piles those ingredients into the same bowl without quite measuring them. Still, the yacht mystery is finally becoming more focused, and the possibility that Ji-hwan's spirit has been guiding Yeo-ri gives the finale a promising direction. Fans may disagree over whether the Singapore detour was worth the journey, but the big question remains: what really happened to Ji-hwan, and will Yeo-ri finally uncover the truth?
