Rather than treating the campaign as a simple action story, Operation Safed Sagar also spends time on the people behind the uniforms, which gives the series considerably more material to explore if Netflix decides that one historical chapter is not enough.

That period offers a completely different setting and would allow the series to introduce another generation of soldiers and commanders.
Another option could be Operation Meghdoot, which began in 1984 and centred on the strategic occupation of key positions around the Siachen Glacier. The extreme environment alone would provide a dramatically different backdrop from the mountainous terrain depicted in the Kargil storyline, while the operation's strategic importance gives writers plenty to work with.
A third possibility is Operation Cactus, the 1988 Indian intervention in the Maldives. That would take the series away from a conventional mountain-war setting and into a rapid-response operation involving India's armed forces beyond its immediate borders.
None of these stories has been announced for Season 2. They are simply examples of the kind of historical material the anthology approach could make possible if Netflix chooses to continue the franchise.
If Operation Safed Sagar Season 2 follows the anthology route, viewers should expect a largely new ensemble rather than a direct continuation featuring the same characters.
That means actors such as Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill and Adil Hussain would not necessarily return in the same roles. Instead, a new cast could portray the real-life figures connected to whichever historical operation is selected.
The military hardware would change as well. The current series puts considerable attention on aircraft including the MiG-21 and Mirage 2000, while a future chapter would naturally introduce equipment appropriate to its own period.
