This time, Tae-seon and Chae-ha would tackle the investigation as trusted partners from the very beginning instead of reluctant allies forced together by circumstance.
The workplace itself could become just as dangerous as any courtroom. Keeping a romantic relationship hidden inside a conservative prosecutor's office would create plenty of tension, awkward encounters and near-disasters.
Trying to act like distant colleagues during office hours before quietly becoming the happiest couple once the working day ends sounds simple enough—until someone starts asking inconvenient questions.
The Prosecutor's Proposal Season 2 could also dive deeper into Lee Chae-ha's emotional recovery. Although his father's innocence has finally been recognised, years of public judgement and isolation cannot simply disappear overnight. Watching him rebuild his confidence while learning to accept happiness without constantly expecting it to disappear would add another meaningful layer to the story.
The original web novel also contains several characters who barely appeared in the drama or were removed entirely. A sequel could introduce Chae-ha's abusive uncle, whose return could reignite painful family conflicts after learning about Chae-ha's new life.
Rather than running away, this time Chae-ha would have Tae-seon standing firmly beside him, ready to use the law instead of fists. Probably a wise career decision. Another compelling addition would be ambitious prosecutor Kang Min-jae, a politically minded rival who could suspect the growing closeness between Tae-seon and Chae-ha.
If he began digging into their personal lives to damage Tae-seon's spotless career, the couple would suddenly find themselves fighting a very different kind of battle—one where emotions become evidence.
The story could also revisit Officer Park, the corrupt policeman responsible for destroying Chae-ha's early career. A new investigation crossing paths with the police would offer the perfect opportunity to expose past corruption once and for all, giving Chae-ha long-overdue professional justice.
Meanwhile, senior prosecutor Hong could become an unexpected ally behind the scenes. Instead of exposing the couple's relationship, he might quietly help them navigate office politics while offering enough dry humour to remind everyone that surviving bureaucracy is sometimes harder than catching criminals.
As for a possible release date, any discussion remains purely speculative until Wavve makes an official decision. If renewal were announced before the end of 2026, industry production schedules suggest pre-production could begin in early 2027, followed by filming through the middle of the year. Under that timeline, a realistic premiere would likely fall somewhere between June and September 2027.
