That means one last mission aboard the USS Enterprise, six episodes instead of the usual ten, and a direct bridge into the era of Star Trek: The Original Series. Even Spock's complicated relationship with T'Pring is expected to reach the emotional crossroads that explains his more reserved personality in later years. The returning cast remains one of the franchise's strongest ensembles.
Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, Martin Quinn and several familiar guest stars all return for the final mission. Their chemistry has been widely praised throughout the series, helping Strange New Worlds balance spectacular science-fiction adventures with genuinely heartfelt character moments.
Behind the scenes, production on Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 5 has already wrapped. Filming took place between 17 September 2025 and 19 December 2025, primarily at CBS Stages Canada in Mississauga, Ontario, operating under the working title Lily and Isaac.
After principal photography finished, the production reached an emotional milestone when the Enterprise sets, home to the cast and crew for five years, were dismantled in April 2026.
