With new episodes continuing to build bigger mysteries around Cheon Yeo-ri and Ma Gang-uk, viewers have already shifted their attention to one question: will Spooky in Love Season 2 actually happen? While tvN has yet to make any announcement, the series has certainly left enough room for another chapter if the broadcaster decides the story deserves one.
The latest episodes continue introducing fresh mysteries while slowly expanding the supernatural rules surrounding Yeo-ri's unusual gift. Rather than wrapping everything up neatly, the drama keeps planting intriguing questions about the ghost world, unresolved crimes and the complicated future facing its central characters. Gang-uk may even find himself permanently connected to the spirit world after repeated exposure, forcing the fiercely rational prosecutor to accept that ghosts are no longer occasional visitors but permanent colleagues. It would certainly make courtroom preparation far more complicated.
A second season could also raise the stakes by moving away from standalone ghost encounters towards one central supernatural threat. Rather than solving separate cold cases every week, Yeo-ri and Gang-uk could find themselves hunting a powerful occult figure whose influence stretches across multiple investigations.
An ancient spirit manipulating modern crimes or a criminal organisation exploiting paranormal abilities would provide a larger mystery capable of sustaining another full season.
The investigative format itself could naturally grow as well. Gang-uk's reputation as a prosecutor could lead him towards nationally significant cases, while Yeo-ri's unique abilities become increasingly valuable to authorities who can no longer ignore the impossible evidence standing in front of them.
New allies could join the team, including a reluctant spiritual expert, a technology specialist determined to explain ghosts with science, or a rookie detective whose complete disbelief slowly disappears one haunted crime scene at a time.
Romance would almost certainly remain the emotional heart of the series. Season 1 has focused heavily on building trust despite Yeo-ri's curse and Gang-uk's overwhelming fear of the supernatural.
A follow-up could explore how an established relationship functions when one partner regularly communicates with restless spirits while the other desperately wishes absolutely none of this had happened in the first place. Relationships are already difficult enough without invisible witnesses offering unsolicited advice.
Corporate conflict also feels far from exhausted. Yeo-ri's position within the luxury hotel empire leaves plenty of opportunities for fresh power struggles, hidden family secrets and ambitious rivals.
Future storylines could introduce competing business groups with mysterious ties to the supernatural world, creating conflicts that blend boardroom politics with ghostly conspiracies surprisingly well.
Should Spooky in Love receive an official renewal, a release sometime during the second half of 2027 would appear realistic. A production of this scale would require months of script development, filming and extensive visual effects work before returning to screens. Nothing has been confirmed, but a lengthy production schedule would be expected if another season moves forward.
Any second season would almost certainly depend on the return of Park Eun-bin as Cheon Yeo-ri and Yang Se-jong as Ma Gang-uk, whose chemistry has become one of the drama's biggest strengths.
