SKE48 member Ota Ayaka is finally getting one of the biggest milestones in a 48 Group idol's career. Her long-awaited first photobook, Nidomebore (ニドメボレ), is set to arrive on 5 August 2026, and newly revealed preview shots have already sparked excitement among fans eager to see a different side of the popular idol. From dreamy amusement park scenes to relaxed poolside moments, the collection promises a more personal look beyond the stage lights.

The title Nidomebore, which loosely carries the feeling of "falling in love all over again", perfectly matches the book's central concept. The theme, "Don't say 'Ayamero' anymore," reflects Ota's wish for people to rediscover her authentic self rather than only the cheerful idol persona they have known for years.

Instead of dramatic reinvention, she hopes readers will simply meet the real woman behind the microphone—and perhaps realise they never truly knew her in the first place.

Sharing her excitement, Ota Ayaka said the project means far more than simply releasing a collection of photographs. "The concept this time is, 'Don't say Ayamero anymore.' I want everyone to see the real me, someone different from my usual idol image. Every page, from the front cover to the back cover, is one of my favourites. This book is packed with everything I had to give."

She continued by expressing gratitude for the title and the special message printed on the obi strip surrounding the book. "Receiving such a wonderful title and beautiful words makes me incredibly happy. This photobook is something I can proudly treasure throughout my idol career. I hope everyone can experience that excitement once again and discover a version of me they may not have expected."

Ota also described the release as something she never imagined would happen so soon. Calling it a wonderful surprise, she said the photobook feels like a present not only for herself but for everyone who has supported her over the years.

"I really hope people open it and immediately think, 'This is amazing!' There are so many unique moments inside, and I can't wait for everyone to enjoy this journey with me."

Three different cover editions have also been unveiled. The standard edition features Ota Ayaka wearing the pink dress she personally wanted while riding a carousel at night, creating an almost storybook-like atmosphere.

The Seven Net Shopping exclusive cover moves to a relaxed poolside setting, while the Maruzen Junkudo Bookstore edition captures her holding a whole celebration cake with an irresistibly cheerful smile. Each version offers its own personality, giving collectors yet another impossible decision to make. As if choosing only one cover was ever going to be easy.

The photobook also includes a touching celebration marking Ota's 26th birthday, which falls on 17 August, shortly after publication.

Rather than presenting only polished glamour shots, the collection mixes elegant photography with candid moments that celebrate both her personal growth and her journey inside SKE48.

The promotional obi message adds another emotional layer to the release. It reads that this book is for anyone who once fell in love with her and even more surprising for those who have watched her for years.

It suggests that Nidomebore is the experience of meeting someone you thought you already knew, only to discover them all over again. It is a clever message that perfectly captures the book's theme without trying too hard—and thankfully without sounding like it was written after three cups of coffee at 2am.

Within Japan's 48 Group, receiving a solo photobook is widely regarded as a significant achievement rather than a routine release. Management typically evaluates fan enthusiasm, public recognition and market demand before approving such projects, making each publication something of a milestone.

For many members, it represents recognition that they have built a dedicated audience capable of supporting a major solo release, which explains why announcements like this often generate considerable excitement among long-time followers.

Fan reactions have been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, although opinions naturally vary over which cover steals the show. Some have called the carousel artwork the clear winner thanks to its fairytale atmosphere, while others prefer the brighter, more natural poolside edition.

Plenty of fans admitted they had planned to buy just one version before seeing all three covers. That strategy lasted approximately five seconds.

For international fans hoping to own Nidomebore, the best option is to purchase an official physical copy through retailers that ship overseas or use legitimate proxy shopping services if a particular edition is only available in Japan. Some stores also offer digital catalogues or previews where available.

While scanned RAR or ZIP copies occasionally appear online, they are generally unauthorised reproductions and do not support the creator or publisher, so choosing official editions remains the proper way to enjoy the photobook while supporting Ota Ayaka and her work.

With Nidomebore arriving on 5 August, anticipation continues to build as more preview images are revealed. For Ota Ayaka, the release is both a personal celebration and a new chapter in her career, offering fans an opportunity to reconnect with the person behind the performances.

Which cover is your favourite, and do you think Nidomebore could become one of the standout 48 Group photobooks in recent years?
