The final episode of See You At Work Tomorrow! has officially wrapped up its successful 2026 run, but viewers are already looking beyond the closing scene. While the workplace romantic comedy delivered a satisfying conclusion for Kang Si-woo and Cha Ji-yoon, it also left plenty of room for their story to continue. That has naturally sparked one question across fan communities: will See You At Work Tomorrow! return for Season 2?
The timing of those discussions is hardly surprising. Throughout its 12-episode run, the tvN drama earned praise for blending relatable office humour, realistic burnout, mature romance and refreshingly grounded character development.
Instead of relying on exaggerated workplace chaos, it focused on the small victories and everyday frustrations that many office workers know all too well. Apparently, watching fictional meetings is far more enjoyable when you are not the one preparing the presentation.
The latest episode also leaves the door slightly open. Rather than forcing every storyline into a perfectly wrapped package, the finale allows the main couple to begin a new chapter together instead of treating their relationship as the finish line.
That approach has convinced many viewers that the writers intentionally avoided closing every possible path, giving the production flexibility should another season ever become reality.
Fan reactions have naturally been mixed. Many believe the ending struck the perfect balance between closure and possibility, while others are already campaigning for another season because they simply are not ready to leave these characters behind.
Some viewers admitted they expected a straightforward office romance but somehow became emotionally invested in coffee breaks, awkward meetings and corporate deadlines. It turns out paperwork can be surprisingly entertaining when Seo In-guk is involved.
One topic repeatedly mentioned by audiences is the outstanding chemistry between Seo In-guk and Park Ji-hyun. Their performances transformed what could have been a familiar workplace romance into something that felt mature, believable and emotionally rewarding. That chemistry alone has become one of the biggest reasons fans hope to see the pair reunited.
Has See You At Work Tomorrow! been renewed for Season 2? At the time of writing, tvN has not officially renewed See You At Work Tomorrow! for Season 2. Neither the broadcaster nor the production team has announced plans for another instalment following the drama's finale on July 28, 2026.
The series certainly has one thing working in its favour: popularity. Throughout its broadcast, the drama steadily built momentum, receiving strong audience support domestically while also finding international viewers through streaming platforms. Positive word of mouth helped the series grow week after week, particularly thanks to its realistic portrayal of office culture and adult relationships.
Even so, renewal remains far from guaranteed. Unlike long-running television franchises elsewhere, Korean dramas on tvN are still predominantly designed as single-season productions.
While recent years have seen more sequels than before, they remain the exception rather than the rule. Once filming wraps, lead actors often move directly onto new projects, making reunions increasingly difficult.
Because See You At Work Tomorrow! was adapted from the completed Kakao webtoon Back to Work! by McQueen Studio, its central storyline also reached a natural conclusion. Any continuation would require an entirely original script that expands beyond the source material rather than simply adapting existing chapters.
For those reasons, the chances of renewal appear cautiously optimistic at best rather than inevitable. The audience interest is clearly there, but production realities may prove the bigger obstacle.
If tvN decides there is more story worth telling, a second season would almost certainly move beyond the classic "will they or won't they" romance that defined much of Season 1.
Instead, the biggest challenge would likely become maintaining a relationship inside the office. Kang Si-woo remains a department manager while Cha Ji-yoon works directly beneath him, creating obvious professional complications.
Keeping their romance hidden from endlessly curious colleagues could generate plenty of comedy, awkward misunderstandings and workplace gossip. Every office somehow has that one colleague who notices everything before Human Resources does.
See You At Work Tomorrow Season 2 could also explore Ji-yoon's professional growth. After overcoming burnout and rediscovering confidence, she may find herself offered a promotion or leadership position.
Rather than surviving office politics, she would suddenly have to manage them herself, discovering that being the boss is significantly less glamorous than it appears from the neighbouring desk.
Meanwhile, Si-woo's famously cold personality still has room to develop. The first season peeled away his intimidating exterior, but another instalment could examine his personal life outside the office, introducing family expectations, future marriage discussions and the realities of balancing career ambitions with long-term commitment.
Supporting characters would also benefit from additional screen time. The colourful office colleagues became fan favourites throughout the series, and another season could further explore their careers, romances and rivalries while keeping the workplace satire alive.
After all, every memorable office has at least one employee who somehow survives every restructuring despite appearing to do remarkably little. Should tvN officially approve another season, viewers should not expect it to arrive quickly.
Because the original story has already concluded, the creative team would first need several months to develop entirely new scripts before pre-production could begin.
Once those scripts are completed, the next hurdle would be securing the return of Seo In-guk, Park Ji-hyun and the supporting cast, all of whom are expected to receive numerous acting offers following the drama's success.
Filming a standard Korean drama typically requires several months, followed by post-production work before the series is ready for broadcast.
Based on normal Korean television production schedules, the earliest realistic release window would likely fall in mid-to-late 2027, assuming development begins relatively soon.
A more conservative estimate would place a potential See You At Work Tomorrow Season 2 premiere sometime in early 2028, particularly if cast availability becomes difficult to coordinate. For now, however, that timeline remains purely speculative until tvN confirms whether the story will continue.
Although See You At Work Tomorrow! delivered a complete and satisfying ending, it also proved that workplace romances can still feel fresh when supported by thoughtful writing and believable characters.
Whether See You At Work Tomorrow Season 2 ever becomes reality or not, the drama has already established itself as one of 2026's standout Korean workplace series. Still, it would be difficult to complain about spending a few more hours in this office—especially when these employees create far more entertaining meetings than most of us ever experience.
