Instead, Khalil and Luca step up to support Mavis through one of the most important chapters of her life, filling the emotional gap left by her longtime friend.
While Marley never appears on screen, the show quietly suggests that the friendship has not disappeared. There is no indication that she has cut ties with Mavis or Khalil.
Instead, the distance simply prevents her from being physically present. Their bond remains intact, even if it now relies on phone calls, messages and probably the occasional "I miss New York... actually, never mind" moment.
Marley's departure also helps reinforce one of Season 3's biggest themes. Life changes, friendships evolve and sometimes the people we rely on most are not always standing in the same room.
Rather than creating unnecessary drama between the friends, the series treats Marley's absence as part of adulthood, where people sometimes take unexpected paths while still caring deeply about each other.
