It is not exactly the update eager audiences wanted, but at least the film is moving forward rather than disappearing into the mythical realm where unfinished blockbusters are rumoured to live forever.
The filmmaker shared the latest progress during an interview with CCTV-6 on the sidelines of the 2026 National Film Workers Conference held on 16 April. Asked about the long-awaited conclusion to the trilogy, Wuershan kept his answer brief but reassuring, explaining that Creation of Gods III is still in post-production and that audiences should wait for the official release announcement once the production team is ready.
