Just days after bringing an era to a close with Arashi’s final stage, Satoshi Ohno was reportedly spotted enjoying a private celebration with fellow Japanese stars Tsuyoshi Domoto and Jesse, in a gathering that stretched until nearly 4am and ended with an emotional karaoke session that has quickly become one of the most talked-about entertainment stories in Japan this week.

According to a report from Japanese tabloid magazine Josei Seven, the gathering took place in early June and featured a star-studded atmosphere as friends and industry figures reportedly came together to encourage and celebrate Ohno following a hugely significant period in his career.

With Arashi officially concluding activities on 31 May and Ohno departing the agency he had called home for more than three decades, many fans have been wondering what comes next. It seems his close friends decided the best answer was simple: food, music and a very long night out.

Witnesses reportedly described Ohno as being in particularly high spirits throughout the evening. After an initial gathering at a private bar, the group allegedly moved on to a second venue.

Along the way, Ohno was said to be greeting passers-by with cheerful enthusiasm and even breaking into spontaneous dance moves in the street.

For a performer often known for his calm and reserved public image, fans were amused to discover that late-night Ohno apparently comes with bonus dance content nobody expected.

The report noted that Tsuyoshi Domoto and Jesse stayed close to Ohno throughout the evening, with the trio reportedly laughing, chatting and reminiscing together.

Industry sources quoted by the publication suggested the gathering was partly a show of support following the emotional conclusion of Arashi’s activities.

The connection between Ohno and Domoto goes back decades. Entertainment insiders noted that Ohno had long admired Domoto during their younger years in the industry, often citing his unique style of singing and dancing as a major influence.

The respect appears to be mutual, with Domoto having previously praised Ohno's expressive performance abilities. Meanwhile, Jesse's presence added another layer to the story. Before SixTONES made its official debut, members of the group worked as backup dancers for senior acts including Arashi.

Sources claimed Jesse had always appreciated the kindness shown to him by Ohno during those years. That long-standing connection reportedly helped bring the gathering together.

The evening did not end when Domoto headed home. According to the report, after saying goodbye close to 4am, Ohno and Jesse continued their conversations at a karaoke venue.

It was there that Ohno reportedly delivered a passionate performance of Koji Tamaki's classic song "Melody", a track known for its emotional lyrics and enduring popularity across generations of Japanese music fans.

For many observers, the song choice felt particularly meaningful. With Arashi's chapter now closed and uncertainty surrounding Ohno's future plans, fans quickly began interpreting the performance as a reflection on friendships, memories and the people who shaped his journey.

Of course, others pointed out that sometimes a karaoke song is simply a karaoke song. The internet, naturally, chose the more dramatic version. Fan reaction across social media has been varied but overwhelmingly fascinated.

Many expressed happiness at seeing Ohno enjoying himself after months of intense attention surrounding Arashi's farewell activities. Others were delighted by the unlikely image of Ohno, Domoto and Jesse sharing a night out together, describing it as a crossover nobody had expected but everyone suddenly wanted more of.

Some joked that the real mystery is not what happened at karaoke, but how anyone still had enough energy left to sing after a celebration lasting until dawn.

The report has also reignited discussion about what lies ahead for Ohno. While no official future projects have been announced, supporters continue to speculate about potential music, television or creative activities.

For now, however, the image capturing fans' imagination is far simpler: Satoshi Ohno, surrounded by friends, singing "Melody" long after midnight while one chapter closes and another quietly waits to begin. What do you think of this unexpected late-night reunion, and which future project would you most like to see from Ohno next?
