Reborn Rookie (신입사원 강회장) is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about Korean dramas of 2026, and viewers are already looking beyond the current episodes. As the corporate fantasy series continues to build momentum, fans have started asking the same question every week: will JTBC bring Reborn Rookie back for Season 2? While nothing has been confirmed, the growing popularity of the drama and several lingering story threads have certainly kept the conversation alive.

The latest episodes have done little to calm the speculation. Instead, they seem to be planting more questions than answers, opening the door for a much bigger story. Rather than wrapping every conflict up neatly, Reborn Rookie continues to expand the complicated battle surrounding Choisung Group, leaving plenty of room for another chapter.

Whether that is intentional or simply clever storytelling remains to be seen, but fans are reading between the lines anyway. Drama viewers are detectives now, apparently. Adding more fuel to the discussion, there have been suggestions from people connected to the production that the story may not be over yet.

While there has been no official announcement, comments indicating that "the story isn't finished here" have encouraged viewers to believe that the creative team still has more plans. Combined with strong domestic ratings, impressive streaming performance and growing international attention, the demand for another season is certainly there.

At the time of writing, JTBC has not officially renewed Reborn Rookie for Season 2. Although the series has enjoyed excellent ratings throughout its run and has become one of the broadcaster's standout dramas of the year, that alone does not guarantee another instalment.

Korean television has become more open to producing follow-up seasons in recent years, but many dramas are still designed as standalone stories.

That said, Reborn Rookie may be in a stronger position than most. Adapted from San Kyung's web novel The New Employee Chairman Kang, the series already comes with an expansive world full of corporate politics, family betrayal and identity twists that could easily stretch beyond one season.

On top of that, the involvement of celebrated creator Kim Soon-ok, whose dramas are known for escalating rather than slowing down, gives viewers even more reason to believe there could be additional chapters waiting in the wings.

If Reborn Rookie does receive the green light, Season 2 could take the story in several exciting directions. The biggest possibility revolves around Kang Yong-ho, who now finds himself living inside the young body of Hwang Jun-hyeon

Rather than simply reclaiming his old position, a second season could explore how he rebuilds Choisung Group from a completely different perspective while adapting permanently to his new identity.

Running a corporate empire is difficult enough. Doing it while everyone still thinks you're just the rookie employee? Slightly more complicated. Another likely storyline could focus on the evolving relationship between Kang Yong-ho and his youngest daughter, Kang Bang-geul.

Throughout the series, she has proven herself to be one of the few trustworthy allies, but a second season could test that loyalty. As she grows more confident in her own leadership abilities, the pair may eventually find themselves competing over the future direction of the company. Family dinners would become even more awkward than board meetings.

The corrupt twin siblings, Kang Jae-kyung and Kang Jae-sung, may also continue to shape the story. Even if their current schemes are dealt with during the ongoing season, the corporate world rarely runs out of ambitious rivals.

REBORN ROOKIE Season 2 could introduce new business enemies, international competitors or hidden shareholders eager to seize control of Choisung Group, forcing unlikely alliances to emerge.

One of the biggest questions also surrounds Hwang Jun-hyeon's original fate. While the original web novel follows a much darker path, the television adaptation has already shown a willingness to surprise audiences.

Instead of following the source material exactly, the drama could create an entirely fresh direction where both identities play an important role, opening the door for an emotional and unpredictable continuation that even novel readers would not see coming.

Online reactions have been divided, although excitement clearly outweighs doubt. Many fans believe Reborn Rookie has enough material for several seasons, praising its blend of fantasy, revenge and corporate intrigue.

Others remain cautious, pointing out that JTBC often prefers concise storytelling over long-running franchises. Some viewers are already sharing detailed Season 2 theories across social media, while others joke that every new episode only adds another conspiracy board to their living room wall.

For now, fans will have to wait for JTBC to make the final decision. With impressive ratings, positive audience buzz and a story that still feels full of possibilities, Reborn Rookie certainly has the ingredients for another season.

Whether the broadcaster chooses to continue remains uncertain, but the demand is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Do you think Reborn Rookie deserves Season 2, and what story would you most like to see next?
