Instead of giving up, Kel finds an unconventional solution. With Davis pretending to be a fictional talent agent, the pair successfully secure an audition opportunity. It is ridiculous, risky and completely in character for the show.
What follows is one of the finale's most satisfying surprises. Jeremy O. Harris already knows the agency is fake. However, he is impressed enough by Kel's work to offer him a chance anyway.
Kel ultimately misses out on the larger role, but he secures a smaller Broadway part. On paper, it may not seem like a huge victory. In reality, it represents the culmination of months of persistence.
