KO1KEYZ have officially set the date that fans have been waiting for. The 12-member global boy group born from PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SHINSEKAI will make their long-awaited debut in both Japan and South Korea on 7 October 2026, marking one of the most ambitious launches for a rookie group in recent years. The announcement immediately sparked excitement across social media, where supporters celebrated the news while simultaneously preparing their wallets for what appears to be a very busy pre-order season.

The debut plans became even more talked about after the group's agency opened pre-orders for the Japanese debut single on 18 June 2026 through major music retailers and e-commerce platforms.

If anyone thought one version would be enough, KO1KEYZ politely disagreed. The group is preparing a staggering 15 editions of the debut release, ensuring collectors will have plenty to discuss and perhaps a few difficult decisions to make.

Adding to the anticipation, KO1KEYZ unveiled their first official group photograph. For many fans, this was the first complete look at the lineup since the survival programme concluded.

The image quickly circulated online, generating thousands of reactions as supporters analysed everything from styling choices to individual member charisma. In the world of idol fandom, one group photo can sometimes create as much discussion as an entire album announcement.

The group carries significant expectations thanks to its origins. KO1KEYZ emerged from PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SHINSEKAI, the latest chapter in the hugely successful audition franchise that previously launched popular acts such as JO1, INI, and ME:I

Unlike previous editions, the programme featured global streaming and worldwide voting, helping the finalists build an international audience long before their official debut. That early global exposure is already paying off as interest continues growing beyond Japan.

For the Japanese debut single, fans can expect three brand-new songs, including the lead track whose title remains under wraps. Keeping the title secret has only intensified curiosity, with supporters already speculating about the group's musical direction.

Whether it leans towards bright pop, performance-driven dance tracks or something more experimental remains one of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the debut.

Alongside the new material, KO1KEYZ will revisit some of the most memorable songs from the audition programme. Fan favourites BLACK ANGEL, Neko, and the programme's signature theme song SHINSEKAI will return in newly recorded KO1KEYZ versions.

For viewers who followed the competition from the beginning, these songs represent key moments from the members' journey and could provide an emotional bridge between the survival show and the group's professional career.

The scale of the physical release has also become a major talking point. Beyond regular and limited editions, each member will receive an individual solo-jacket version available exclusively through the official fan club.

For dedicated supporters, this means choosing a favourite member may suddenly become a very expensive exercise. For collectors, however, it is exactly the sort of challenge they secretly enjoy.

The timing of the debut appears carefully planned. Before officially launching, KO1KEYZ are already scheduled to appear at 2026 KCON LA, while fan meetings are expected to take place in Tokyo, Hyogo, and Seoul from August onwards.

These events will give the members an opportunity to strengthen their connection with supporters and introduce themselves to wider audiences ahead of October's debut.

Online reaction has been largely enthusiastic, though opinions naturally vary. Many fans praised the decision to debut simultaneously in Japan and Korea, viewing it as a statement of the group's international ambitions from day one.

Others focused on the release strategy, joking that collecting all 15 versions may require a second bookshelf or perhaps an entirely new room.

Some netizens expressed excitement about hearing fresh arrangements of BLACK ANGEL and Neko, while others admitted they are most curious about the mystery title track.

Industry observers are also paying close attention. The success of groups emerging from the PRODUCE 101 JAPAN franchise has raised expectations, and KO1KEYZ enters the market with an established fanbase, strong brand recognition and growing international visibility.

The combination of simultaneous Japan-Korea promotions, global fan engagement and major pre-debut events gives the group a solid foundation as they prepare to enter one of the most competitive sectors in music.

For now, many details remain under wraps, including the debut single's official title and complete track information. That secrecy has only fuelled anticipation as October approaches.

One thing is certain: KO1KEYZ are not arriving quietly. With a global fanbase already watching closely, the countdown to 7 October has officially begun. Are you excited for KO1KEYZ's debut, and which member or song are you looking forward to the most?
