What should have been a straightforward graduation celebration for Yan Haoxiang quickly turned into one of the most talked-about entertainment stories in China this week. The Teens in Times (TNT) member arrived at Beijing Film Academy on 28 May 2026 to take part in graduation photo activities, only for the event to be disrupted after large crowds gathered around the campus. Instead of posing for class photos with fellow graduates, the singer and actor reportedly ended up leaving without even stepping out of his vehicle.

According to campus security personnel, conditions on-site became too difficult to manage as crowds continued to gather around the graduation area. As a result, planned activities involving Yan Haoxiang could not proceed as scheduled. Security staff ultimately determined that continuing the event would present unnecessary challenges, leading to the star's early departure from campus.

The incident quickly became a wider discussion about campus security after reports emerged that some individuals may have entered the university through unofficial means.

While Beijing Film Academy maintains strict entry regulations during working days, with visitors generally requiring authorisation, security officials revealed that certain people had allegedly been offering access services online for around 200 yuan.

If true, it means some individuals apparently looked at university security rules and decided they were merely "optional reading material". Campus authorities were less amused by the idea.

During the two-day graduation photo period, university staff and local authorities reportedly increased patrols and monitoring efforts around the campus.

Several people suspected of entering without authorisation were identified and handed over to relevant authorities for further investigation. The academy also confirmed that any students found assisting outsiders in entering campus in exchange for compensation could face disciplinary action.

University officials stated that violations would be reported to academic supervisors and relevant departments, with penalties determined according to the severity of the situation. The message was clear: graduation season is a celebration, not an opportunity for side businesses.

Despite the disruption, Yan Haoxiang officially completed his studies at Beijing Film Academy on the same day.

The star later shared graduation photographs on his personal Weibo account, accompanied by a simple caption that roughly translated to "picture delivered". The understated post quickly generated massive attention online, with graduation-related topics rapidly climbing trending charts.

Yan Haoxiang's Graduation Photos Go Viral

Fans were quick to congratulate the performer, many noting how much he had matured since his debut years. Images of Yan Haoxiang in graduation robes spread across social media platforms, with supporters celebrating both his academic achievement and his continued success as a member of one of China's most popular idol groups.

Behind the congratulatory messages, however, there was also disappointment. Many fans had hoped to see photos featuring the full graduating class and broader campus celebrations. Instead, security concerns reportedly forced adjustments to the schedule.

Rather than participating in large group activities, Yan Haoxiang is said to have completed individual photos and smaller sessions with lecturers and close acquaintances inside campus facilities.

Many fans criticised the behaviour of overly intrusive followers, arguing that graduation should remain a personal milestone rather than a public spectacle. Cnetz expressed frustration that one of the most important days in Yan Haoxiang's university life was partially overshadowed by crowd management issues. Fans also questioned how unauthorised visitors were allegedly able to enter a campus with established access controls.

At the same time, others focused on the positive side of the story, pointing out that Yan Haoxiang still graduated successfully and was able to commemorate the occasion with photos shared directly with fans.
