Thai actor Auau Thanaphum has openly addressed an unsettling encounter with an overly intrusive fan, revealing he was followed from daytime hours right through to a late-night rehearsal session — a situation that quickly turned what should have been a standard workday into something far more uncomfortable.
Speaking candidly during his appearance at Thailand Pet Expo 2026 on 30 April, where he attended as a brand ambassador, Auau Thanaphum did not sugar-coat the experience.
He described how the individual trailed him for hours, eventually reaching a rehearsal space that is typically considered semi-private — not exactly a place you’d expect an audience, let alone someone filming.
The timing made it worse. This wasn’t a quick sighting or a harmless hello. According to him, the person had been present since earlier in the day and stayed until late into the night, even as rehearsals wrapped.
What might sound like dedication on paper quickly crossed into territory that felt invasive, particularly in a setting meant for focused work.
For Auau, the issue goes beyond personal discomfort. He was quick to point out that rehearsal spaces are shared environments, used by multiple artists and production teams.

Having an unknown individual lingering and recording in that space disrupts not just his privacy, but everyone else’s. In other words, it’s not just awkward — it’s disruptive.
He admitted the situation made him uneasy, though his concern wasn’t entirely self-centred. There was a noticeable tone of consideration in his response, even bordering on polite frustration.
He expressed worry for the fan’s own safety, noting that following someone late at night in a quiet area carries its own risks. It’s the kind of reality check that sounds obvious, yet apparently still needs saying.
Despite the incident, Auau Thanaphum made it clear he has no interest in escalating things aggressively.
Instead, he chose to address the issue in a measured way, asking fans to understand the line between public and private life. He emphasised that he is more than willing to interact — just not in spaces that are meant to be off-limits.
He even added that if fans happen to see him in public by chance, a normal greeting is perfectly fine.

What he’s pushing back against is the deliberate following, the constant recording, and the lack of personal space — all things that turn admiration into something far less welcome.
Online reactions, as expected, are split in that classic internet fashion. Some fans have rallied behind Auau, praising him for speaking calmly yet firmly about an issue many artists face but rarely address so directly. Others, however, seem to blur the lines, arguing that public figures should expect this level of attention — a take that, frankly, feels a bit outdated in 2026.
There’s also a noticeable wave of concern from fellow fans who pointed out how such behaviour affects not just the artist but the wider working environment.
The phrase “safe space” popped up more than once, suggesting audiences are increasingly aware that boundaries matter — even in fandom culture.
At its core, this isn’t just about one uncomfortable encounter. It highlights a wider, ongoing issue in the entertainment industry where admiration can tip into intrusion far too easily.
Auau Thanaphum’s response may be calm, but the message is clear: support should never come at the cost of someone’s privacy or safety.
And if that still sounds like a grey area to some, perhaps it’s time to ask — where exactly should the line be drawn between being a fan and crossing into someone’s personal space?
