TPE48 has moved decisively to overhaul its internal structure, confirming the creation of Team TIII and Team P following a team reshuffle announced on 5 April 2026. The change replaces its previous unit-based format with a formal team system, bringing the Taiwan-based idol group closer in line with the wider 48 Group framework used internationally.
The newly introduced Team TIII will carry an official teal blue identity, led by captain Chang Shao-tong, with members including Lau Hiu-ching, Lin Yu-hsin, Yi Pin, Chang Yu-lin, Su Heng-yu, Chen Zhao-ni, Chen Yi-ling, Tang Ching, Chen Jia-yi, Liu Zi-fei, Hu Yung-ching, Yang Chia-yi, Yu Zi-lei, and Lu Hsin-en.
The team’s composition reflects a mix of familiar faces and steady performers, positioning it as a core pillar in the group’s next phase.
Running parallel, Team P adopts a polished red concept under captain Meng Ting-yun, featuring members such as Tsai Ya-en, Lin Yi-yun, Huang Yi-lin, Chen Ying-zhen, Huang Yu-yan, Hsu Pei-wan, Chen Tai-ling, Tsai Ciao-yin, Chen Qiao-yi, Yang Ya-yun, Xu Chun-yuan, Chang Hsin-chiao, and Liu Yan-ning.
Notably, Lin Yi-yun also steps into the role of overall captain, signalling a central leadership figure overseeing both teams during this transitional period.
Both teams are scheduled to begin official activities on 1 August 2026, marking a clear timeline for the group’s operational reset.

The move effectively retires the earlier AKB48 Team TP-era system, where members were grouped into units such as Tic Tac Toe and Peek A Boo—formats that leaned more towards experimental branding than long-term structural clarity.
The shift is widely seen as a strategic recalibration. By adopting standardised team naming conventions, TPE48 strengthens its identity within the broader 48 Group ecosystem, where clearly defined teams serve as the backbone for performances, theatre shows, and fan engagement cycles.
It also signals a push towards consistency and scalability, particularly as the group looks to refine its positioning in a competitive regional idol landscape.

Huang Yi-lin Promoted to Official Member |
Reaction among fans and netizens has been notably mixed. Some have welcomed the return to a traditional team system, viewing it as a long-overdue correction that restores a sense of order and identity.
Others, however, expressed concern over overlapping memberships and the reshuffle’s impact on individual visibility, with particular discussion around members like Lin Yu-hsin and Chen Jia-yi, who appear across both team line-ups in different announcements.
The leadership appointments have also drawn scrutiny, with Lin Yi-yun’s dual role as overall captain prompting debate about workload and influence.
There is also a quieter layer of curiosity surrounding how the new teams will differentiate themselves beyond colour branding.
While the structural change is clear, fans are watching closely to see whether Team TIII and Team P will develop distinct performance styles, concepts, or stage identities that justify the reset beyond administrative alignment.
In its final stretch, this reshuffle reads less like a routine update and more like a defining pivot.
TPE48 is not simply reorganising—it is repositioning, with a sharper, globally recognisable framework that could shape its trajectory for years to come.
Whether this calculated shift pays off will depend on execution, chemistry, and how convincingly the new teams can win over a fanbase already divided in its first reaction.
As the August launch approaches, the conversation is only just beginning. Are Team TIII and Team P the reset TPE48 needed, or a risk that could reshape its identity entirely?
