That is where the chances of If Wishes Could Kill Season 2 become interesting. Netflix often labels projects as limited series, then quietly changes direction if the numbers are strong enough.
It has happened before, and streaming platforms are not known for turning down successful shows simply because an earlier label sounded tidy. If viewers kept watching, rewatching and posting theories at 2am, the conversation changes quickly.

Another unresolved thread is Hatsal, one of the most intriguing characters in the show. She is powerful, mysterious, and somehow unable to leave her compound.
The series never fully explained why, which felt less like a mistake and more like a deliberate breadcrumb for future episodes.
By the finale, Bangwool hinted he had found a way to free her. Naturally, the show then ended before explaining anything. Classic behaviour.
A second season could easily pivot towards Hatsal’s past, revealing how she became a shaman, what price she paid, and why she remains trapped.
That route would allow the drama to stay within its supernatural world while giving viewers a new mystery.
It would also prevent Season 2 from becoming eight more episodes of people making foolish wishes and acting shocked when consequences arrive.
In terms of cast, several familiar faces could return. Kang Mi-na as Na-ri, Jeon So-nee as Hatsal, and Roh Jae-won as Bangwool feel like the strongest candidates if Netflix continues the story.
Depending on the script, the younger main group including Jeon So-young, Baek Sun-ho, and Hyun Woo-seok could also reappear. Their unfinished arcs still have room to grow, especially if the curse circles back.
Not everyone is expected to return, however. Some characters met endings that were final enough to discourage optimism.
Of course, in supernatural dramas, “final” can sometimes mean “see you in episode six flashback form”, so nothing should be ruled out entirely. Writers love surprises almost as much as cursed apps apparently love ruining people’s week.
Online reaction has been mixed but loud. Some viewers believe If Wishes Could Kill should stay as a tight one-season story rather than risk stretching the concept. Others insist the unresolved twists make another season necessary.
Many praised the creepy premise and unpredictable tone, while some argued the finale answered just enough to frustrate them on purpose. In short, people are divided, which usually means the show has done something right.
For now, Netflix has not confirmed If Wishes Could Kill Season 2, so expectations should stay realistic. Still, between the surviving app, unfinished character stories, and growing chatter online, there is enough fuel for another chapter.
