Hinatazaka46 have confirmed their 17th single, Kind of Love, set for release on 20 May 2026, with the announcement landing mid-performance at Yokohama Stadium during the second day of their 7th anniversary live. The reveal did not stop at a title drop.
The group unveiled the full senbatsu formation and immediately debuted the track live, placing fourth-generation member Fujishima Kaho at the centre for her first solo front position.
The 14-member senbatsu reflects a deliberate generational balance, though not without notable shifts. From the second generation, Kanemura Miku and Kosaka Nao return as expected anchors.

The third generation sees full representation with Takahashi Mikuni, Yamaguchi Haruyo, Morimoto Marie, and Kamimura Hinano, signalling management’s continued trust in the cohort’s stability and popularity.
Fourth-generation members take a more assertive role this time.
Alongside centre Fujishima Kaho, the formation includes Shimizu Rio, Shogenji Yoko, Miyachi Sumire, and Watanabe Rina, marking one of the clearest pushes yet for newer faces to lead a title track cycle.
Fifth-generation presence is limited but symbolic, with Ono Manami, Matsuo Sakura, and newcomer Katayama Saki making the cut, the latter drawing immediate attention as a fresh addition.
The reshuffle comes with clear omissions. Matsuda Konoka, Konishi Nanami, Yamashita Haruka, and Takai Rika are absent from the senbatsu, a move likely to prompt scrutiny among long-time followers.
Meanwhile, the inclusion of Yamaguchi Haruyo, Morimoto Marie, Kamimura Hinano, and Katayama Saki signals a recalibration towards members with rising momentum or renewed positioning within the group.
For Fujishima Kaho, this centre role marks a turning point.
While she previously held a joint centre position alongside Shogenji Yoko on the 12th single Zettai-teki Dairokkan, this is her first time leading alone.

The live debut performance leaned into a high-energy, dance-forward style, suggesting a sonic and visual direction designed to reinforce her presence at the front.
Beyond the single itself, Hinatazaka46 also confirmed a parallel live series featuring their under members under the Hinatazaka46 banner, scheduled for mid-June in Tokyo.
The move continues the group’s strategy of maintaining visibility across all tiers, ensuring non-senbatsu members remain active within the wider project ecosystem.
Supporters of Fujishima Kaho have welcomed the decision as overdue, pointing to her steady growth and stage confidence. Others have questioned the exclusion of familiar names, arguing the balance between consistency and renewal feels increasingly tilted towards rotation rather than continuity.
The inclusion of a fifth-generation newcomer has also sparked curiosity, with some seeing it as a bold investment, while others view it as premature.
There is, however, broad agreement on one point: the method of announcement worked.
The back-to-back reveal of release date, formation, and live performance created a sense of immediacy rarely seen in standard idol rollouts, amplifying engagement both inside the stadium and across fan communities online.
What do you make of the new centre call and the latest senbatsu shake-up? Is this the reset Hinatazaka46 needed, or a risky shift too soon?
