The remark, posted beneath a discussion of the upcoming historical drama Ci Tang (刺棠), quickly circulated through screenshots and triggered questions about whether the criticism truly came from the actress herself or from someone managing the account.
The issue first surfaced on 12 March when a comment attributed to Wang Herun appeared under an entertainment blogger’s post discussing the period styling of Wang Yuwen, one of the drama’s lead performers. The message bluntly criticised the costume look, describing it as “too swollen” and lacking elegance.
Within minutes, the comment was captured and shared across several platforms, where it began trending among drama fans and celebrity watchers.
Because both actresses are well-known figures within China’s television industry, the post immediately drew attention.
