Bangkok’s film and television industry gathered in force on Tuesday night as the Thailand Box Office Awards 2025 recognised the country’s most successful and widely watched films and series of the past year. Held at Aksara Theatre, King Power, the ceremony placed the spotlight on productions that shaped Thailand’s entertainment landscape throughout 2025, from record-breaking cinema releases to streaming hits that captured audiences across Asia.

Among the biggest winners of the evening were the fantasy BL drama The Next Prince and the romantic mystery Petrichor the Series, while the film The Red Envelope swept several major categories.

The awards, now considered one of the industry’s most closely watched events, also reflected the continued commercial strength of Thai cinema, with several films surpassing the 100 million baht milestone at the domestic box office.

In the television and streaming categories, The Next Prince secured the Best Boy Love (BL) Series award. Its leading star Nunew Chawarin also took home Best Actor in a Series, marking one of the night’s most talked-about wins. Accepting the trophy on stage, Nunew Chawarin thanked viewers who supported the show from the beginning.

“Thank you to everyone who believed in this story and supported us every week,” he said during his speech. “This award belongs to our team, the cast, and the fans who kept cheering us on.”

Meanwhile, Petrichor the Series dominated the Girl Love category, winning Best GL Series and Best Couple of the Year for Engfa Waraha and Charlotte Austin. Engfa Waraha also secured Best Actress in a Series.

During her acceptance speech, Engfa Waraha expressed gratitude to the audience who helped the drama gain international attention.

“I’m grateful to our viewers, my co-stars, my family, and the fans who shared this journey with us,” she said. “We made this series with a lot of heart, and it means a lot to see it recognised tonight.”

The thriller drama Enigma 2: Black Stage was awarded Best TV Drama Series, while Khemjira Will Survive collected two production honours for Best Series Screenplay and Best Series Production Design.

Other high earners included Khang Ban (130 million baht), Song Dang Taeng Phee (103.35 million baht), and Seua (102.08 million baht).

The ceremony drew major industry names, with actors and creators from prominent agencies including GMMTV and Mandee Work attending the event.

Supporters of Nunew Chawarin, Engfa Waraha, and Charlotte Austin flooded social platforms with congratulatory messages, praising the performances and the impact their series had throughout the year.

Some viewers also highlighted the commercial success of Thai films in 2025, noting that titles like Tee Yod 3 proved the local box office remains robust and capable of drawing large audiences.

Still, reactions were mixed in places, with some fans debating whether other popular dramas should have received nominations. The discussion only added to the night’s visibility online, as award results sparked lively conversations across fan communities.

With streaming dramas, cinema releases and fan-driven popularity all reflected in the results, the Thailand Box Office Awards 2025 offered a snapshot of where the country’s entertainment industry stands today.
