Chinese actress Dilraba Dilmurat has been forced to pull out of the Dior 2026 Autumn/Winter show in Paris after travel disruption left her unable to depart the Middle East. Her studio confirmed she could not arrive in France on 3 March as scheduled, citing force majeure, and stressed that she is safe with her team.
The statement was issued late at night following online speculation that Dilraba had been stranded in Dubai during a layover en route to Paris. Reports circulating on social media claimed flights were grounded, preventing her onward journey.
While the studio did not detail the exact circumstances, it acknowledged “realistic limitations” and said all possible arrangements had been explored with the brand before the final decision was made.
According to the studio, Dilraba had been looking forward to attending the show and had prepared extensively after receiving the invitation.
The team apologised both to the brand and to fans, expressing regret that the appearance could not go ahead despite best efforts.

As a global brand ambassador for Dior, her expected attendance at Paris Fashion Week had already been widely previewed by fashion media.
She was tipped to lead the front row at the Dior 2026 Autumn/Winter showcase. Her absence, therefore, quickly became a trending topic across Chinese and international platforms.
Online reactions have been mixed but largely supportive. Many fans expressed relief after confirmation that Dilraba is safe, urging her to prioritise security over any event. Others voiced disappointment, saying they had anticipated her fashion week styling and red-carpet presence.
At the same time, her agency Jaywalk Media is facing mounting criticism online over the travel arrangements. Some netizens claim that while other artists and even members of her wider team reportedly took direct flights to Paris, Dilraba was booked on a connecting route via Dubai instead.
Critics argue that choosing a Middle East transit amid regional instability was risky, with some questioning the judgment behind the decision. A small but vocal group has gone further, suggesting the arrangement was unnecessary and demanding clearer answers from management. However, there is no confirmed evidence supporting claims of deliberate intent, and the agency has not publicly responded to the specific allegations surrounding the ticketing choice.
Meanwhile, Dilraba’s long-time make-up artist Wang Yafei reportedly arrived in Paris as scheduled, only for the planned appearance to fall through. The artist has since taken to Weibo, openly criticising Jaywalk Studio over the handling of the situation.

His posts have added another layer to the unfolding story, with netizens now questioning internal coordination behind the scenes as much as the travel disruption itself.
Some netizens questioned the lack of detailed explanation in the statement, while others defended the studio’s choice not to disclose specifics, noting that travel disruptions can unfold rapidly and unpredictably.

Industry observers point out that high-profile fashion week schedules are tightly structured, and even minor delays can derail appearances. With flights reportedly halted in the region during her transit, timing would have been critical. Ultimately, safety and logistics appear to have dictated the outcome.
For now, the key message from her camp is clear: Dilraba is safe, together with her team, and monitoring the situation. Whether she will resume international appearances once travel routes stabilise remains to be seen.
What do you make of the situation? Was the studio right to keep details minimal, or should fans have been told more?
