CGM48 has confirmed its 11th single, “Koi Tsun Jatta”, with Jingjing Aranya stepping into the centre position, unveiled during the BNK48 & CGM48 Siam-Nippon Summer Fest 2026 on 29 March.

The announcement places the Chiang Mai-based group firmly back in the spotlight, with a familiar AKB48 track reworked into a new Thai-language release aimed at both loyal fans and the wider 48 Group audience.

Originally released as AKB48’s 64th single in July 2024, “Koi Tsun Jatta” arrives with built-in recognition.

CGM48’s version leans into that legacy while signalling its own identity, continuing the long-running strategy of adapting Japanese hits for regional sister groups.

The move also reinforces the tight creative exchange across the 48 Group network, where localisation remains key to sustaining relevance in different markets.

The selected senbatsu line-up features 12 members, led by Jingjing Aranya, whose placement as centre marks a significant push in her trajectory within the group.

She is joined by Else Ananya, Emma Sasicha, and Hongyok Khuanpradit, the latter making her first appearance in senbatsu.

Other members confirmed include Kwan Thidatip, Lingling Sirathreethip, Lookked Pimlapas, Nana Penpichaya, Nisha Nutthanisha, Ploen Panalee, Prae Nattapond, and Shenae Pawarisa, forming a line-up that blends established faces with newer momentum.

The inclusion of Hongyok Khuanpradit has quickly become a talking point, with many viewing her debut in senbatsu as a sign of internal rotation and opportunity within CGM48.

For a group operating under the competitive structure of the 48 system, such changes are often read as both reward and recalibration, offering insight into management’s evolving priorities.

Fan and netizen reactions have been mixed but engaged. Supporters of Jingjing Aranya have welcomed her centre role as overdue recognition, praising her stage presence and consistency.

Others have debated the overall senbatsu composition, with some questioning omissions while acknowledging the need for fresh visibility among newer members..

The choice of song itself has also sparked discussion, with long-time 48 Group followers comparing CGM48’s upcoming version to the original AKB48 release and its centre, Airi Sato.

There is also a broader conversation emerging around CGM48’s musical direction.

While the adaptation of a known AKB48 single offers familiarity, some fans are calling for a stronger push towards distinct original releases to further define the group’s identity beyond its sister-group framework.

At the same time, others argue that such adaptations remain essential in maintaining continuity within the brand.

What is clear is that “Koi Tsun Jatta” positions CGM48 at a strategic intersection between legacy and renewal. With Jingjing Aranya at the centre and a reshuffled senbatsu line-up, the single carries both expectation and scrutiny as the group navigates its next phase.
