Expect a mix of large ensemble dance numbers, nostalgic TVB theme song tributes, festive comedy sketches, cross-city musical collaborations and high-energy idol group stages. With both seasoned actors and rising young performers sharing the same platform, the gala aims to balance heritage and youth appeal.

There is also strong anticipation around collaborative stages between Hong Kong veterans and Chengdu-based performers, which could deliver unexpected pairings and fresh arrangements.

Production-wise, viewers can expect vibrant Lunar New Year visuals, grand stage design and a tightly paced variety format typical of TVB festive specials.

Reactions have been varied and lively. Many Hong Kong viewers are excited to see veteran figures like Liza Wang, Moses Chan and Wayne Lai anchoring the festive mood, calling the line-up “classic TVB energy.”

Younger fans, meanwhile, are buzzing over the inclusion of idol groups such as GNZ48, CKG48 and CGT48, saying it brings a more current flavour to the traditionally family-focused gala.

Some netizens have also pointed out the sheer size of the performer list, praising the cross-regional collaboration as a smart move to widen audience reach across Greater China and overseas markets. Others are curious whether the programme will lean more towards Cantopop nostalgia or contemporary mainland performance styles.

For international fans outside mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau: The CDTV and TVB Hong Kong Spring Festival Gala 2026 will be accessible through TVB Anywhere and TVB Anywhere+, making it easier for viewers across Asia, Europe and Australia to join the Lunar New Year celebration live or on replay.

Audiences in North America can stream it via TVB Anywhere North America, while selected regions including Singapore and Malaysia will also receive local broadcasts. With multiple digital options available, overseas viewers will not have to miss out on the festive stages, star collaborations and countdown atmosphere on 15 February 2026.

Will this collaboration set a new standard for cross-city festive galas? Which performance are you most looking forward to?
