Single’s Inferno season 5 has officially wrapped, and the finale wasted no time delivering clarity, chaos, and a few genuinely surprising final decisions. Episodes 11 and 12, released on February 10, closed the chapter on the show’s biggest and most competitive cast yet, answering the only question that mattered in the end: who actually chose love, and who walked away alone.
Set on the familiar isolated beach known as Inferno, the reality dating series once again stripped away personal backgrounds, keeping ages and careers secret until the very end. With 15 contestants this season, ranging from athletes and models to artists and pageant winners, season 5 quickly became the most layered and emotionally charged instalment so far.
By the finale, five couples successfully matched and earned their exit from Inferno together:
- Kim Min-ji and Song Seung-il
- Park Hee-sun and Lim Su-been
- Choi Mina Sue and Lee Sung-hun
- Lee Joo-young and Kim Jae-jin
- Kim Go-eun and Woo Sung-min
Episode 11 opens with long-simmering feelings finally being put into words. Sung-hun and Mina Sue confirm their mutual interest with zero hesitation, instantly feeling like one of the season’s most stable pairings. Min-ji and Seung-il, after days of uncertainty, sit down for an honest talk that ends with both agreeing to choose each other.
Elsewhere, Joo-young admits her growing feelings for Jae-jin during a Paradise date, while Su-been quietly reveals to Min-ji that Hee-sun has never left his mind.
Tension peaks during lunch when Seung-il tells Hee-sun about Su-been and Min-ji sleeping together earlier in the season, leaving her visibly shaken and unsure of her next move.
Sung-hun later checks on Hee-sun as emotions spill over. Although he reassures her that Su-been genuinely likes her, the damage from earlier misunderstandings lingers. Their conversation ends in tears, marking one of the finale’s most emotionally raw moments.
Meanwhile, Go-eun’s storyline becomes the centre of attention. During her Paradise date with I-geon, his repeated mentions of Ha-eun slowly frustrate her.

Back at Inferno, Sung-min wins the special date challenge, and after a redraw twist, Sung-hun and Min-ji secure the win. Sung-hun ultimately chooses Mina Sue, and their date further solidifies their connection.
As the final bonfire approaches, Go-eun is repeatedly questioned about her intentions. She avoids direct answers, choosing silence and soju instead, seemingly trying not to hurt anyone. Hee-sun remains quiet throughout, adding to the sense of uncertainty heading into the last day.
The finale decisions deliver both expected outcomes and genuine surprises. Min-ji and Seung-il choose each other without hesitation.
Su-been selects Hee-sun, and after clearing up earlier misunderstandings through flashbacks, she returns his choice. Mina Sue and Sung-hun also lock in their pairing.
Jae-jin and Hyun-jae both choose Joo-young, but she ultimately picks Jae-jin. The biggest shock comes when Go-eun, chosen by three men, unexpectedly selects Sung-min. Ha-eun chooses Jae-jin, while Ye-jin leaves Inferno alone, closing out season 5.
Fan and netizen reactions have been sharply divided. Some praised the finale for finally rewarding consistency and emotional honesty, especially in pairings like Mina Sue and Sung-hun.
Others felt Go-eun’s final choice came out of nowhere, sparking debates about editing, off-camera dynamics, and whether certain connections were underdeveloped. Ye-jin leaving single also drew sympathy, with many viewers feeling her arc never got enough space to breathe.
All 12 episodes of Single’s Inferno season 5 are now streaming on Netflix. As for season 6, rumours are already swirling about a return next year, though nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Still, given the conversation this finale has sparked, hope is definitely in the air.
