Rumours about Dilraba Dilmurat ending her relationship with Jaywalk Studio have been flying across Chinese social media, but the agency has stepped in to shut down claims of a contract termination, calling the speculation “not true” in a response to local entertainment media.

The discussion kicked off after online posts suggested that Dilraba Dilmurat aka Dilireba, one of China’s most recognisable actresses, had abruptly parted ways with her long-time agency. Jaywalk Studio staff quickly responded to outlets including Sina Entertainment, denying that any contract termination had taken place. Still, the situation hasn’t gone completely quiet.

Born in June 1992 in Xinjiang, Dilraba Dilmurat rose to the top tier of Chinese entertainment through hit dramas like Diamond Lover, Eternal Love, Eternal Love of Dream, and You Are My Glory. Her popularity, commercial value, and strong fanbase make any management-related news instantly headline-worthy.

Founded in 2014, Jaywalk Studio is a major name in artist management and drama production, representing nearly 30 artists. Its roster includes familiar faces such as Zhang Yunlong, Vengo Gao, Zhuang Dafei, and Zhou Keyu, making Dilraba’s status within the company especially significant.

Contract Expiry vs Contract Termination: Why Fans Are Debating

The key detail fuelling confusion is timing. Dilraba Dilmurat’s 13-year contract with Jaywalk Studio officially expired on February 26, 2026, after being signed back in 2013.

Multiple industry sources have stated that the cooperation ended naturally and was not renewed, rather than being terminated early.

On the same day, Dilraba’s own company, Shanghai Jingyan Film & TV Studio, began operating independently, taking full control of her acting projects, brand work, and promotions. Established in 2017, the studio focuses on film, drama, and stage production planning, marking a clear shift towards self-management.

Dilraba Dilmurat’s Contract Status Sparks Fresh Debate After Jaywalk Response

Despite this, rumours framed the situation as a “contract termination,” which Jaywalk Studio strongly denied. Their response, however, was delivered verbally rather than through an official written statement, and did not clearly spell out whether the contract had expired or talks were ongoing. That lack of clarity has kept the debate alive.

Online reactions have been split. Some fans argue that Jaywalk’s denial is technically correct, stressing that “contract expired and not renewed” is very different from “contract terminated.”

Others remain sceptical, pointing out that Jaywalk responded more than 72 hours after the rumours surfaced, unlike a similar incident in October 2025 when false claims were immediately labelled as such on official accounts.

Netizens also noticed that Dilraba Dilmurat was absent from Jaywalk Studio’s 2026 New Year artist summary and company New Year video, a noticeable break from previous years. Several verified industry accounts added fuel to the discussion by confirming that her contract had indeed ended and would not continue.

New Rumour: A Move to Yang Mi’s Tianyi Entertainment?

As if things weren’t busy enough, a fresh rumour appeared on February 28 claiming that Dilraba Dilmurat had signed with Tianyi Entertainment, a newly established company founded by Yang Mi. The claim quickly spread, but many Weibo users poured cold water on it, pointing out the lack of any official confirmation.

Most commenters currently see this as low-credibility gossip, reiterating that Dilraba is now operating independently through her own studio. For now, there’s no solid evidence linking her to Tianyi Entertainment.

At present, neither Jaywalk Studio nor Dilraba Dilmurat has released an official written statement clearly defining the end status of their cooperation. Until that happens, speculation is likely to continue, especially given Dilraba’s influence in the industry.

Do you think going independent is the right move for her career, or would joining a new management company make more sense?
