Hong Kong star Cecilia Cheung Pak-chi has once again dominated headlines after reports revealed she voluntarily halted her entire February schedule to give her employees nearly one month of fully paid leave for Chinese New Year 2026 — on top of handing out unusually generous red packets.

According to Hong Kong media reports, the actress-entrepreneur decided to press pause on all professional commitments throughout February so her team could return home and celebrate Lunar New Year with their families without worry.

Despite the extended break, staff members reportedly continued receiving full salary with no deductions, a move considered rare in the fast-paced and competitive entertainment industry.

But that was not all. Each employee was said to receive what insiders described as “super-sized red packets”, amounts believed to far exceed typical industry standards. The scale of her generosity quickly caught public attention, with many dubbing her a real-life “goddess of fortune” and a boss with a golden heart.

Photos circulating online showed Cecilia Cheung appearing effortlessly elegant yet understated, smiling warmly among her team during the celebrations.

The atmosphere looked relaxed and festive, reinforcing her image as an employer who genuinely values staff welfare rather than simply maintaining appearances.

Interestingly, this is not the first time she has taken such steps. During Lunar New Year 2025, she reportedly treated her employees to a group holiday at Universal Studios Beijing alongside large red packets.

Back in 2020, during the pandemic period, she was also said to have absorbed personal losses to ensure workers at her Hong Kong store still received a full month of paid leave.

Beyond acting, Cecilia Cheung has built a strong presence in mainland China through variety shows, livestream commerce and her fashion label See Ceci Street. With her career thriving across multiple platforms, fans say her generosity reflects someone who has not forgotten the people behind the scenes who support her success.

The story quickly climbed trending charts on Chinese social platforms. Reactions from fans and netizens have been lively and varied.

Many were openly impressed. Comments like “This is the kind of boss everyone dreams of”, “She truly thinks about working people”, and “Beauty and kindness in one” flooded discussion threads.

Some joked, “Are they still hiring?”, while others praised her consistency, noting that this has become something of an annual tradition.

Of course, a few sceptical voices questioned whether such large-scale generosity is sustainable in the long run, but even critics admitted that paid leave of that length in the entertainment field is almost unheard of.

Meanwhile, Cecilia Cheung has also been spotted in Australia recently, helping her eldest son prepare for university life and spending quality time with her younger child at indoor playgrounds.

Locals who encountered her described her as down-to-earth and approachable, with no celebrity airs. On Instagram, she even playfully joked about gaining weight during her extended stay and promised to return to Hong Kong in top shape for work.

Would you want a boss who gives a full month of paid leave? Or do you think this sets an unrealistic standard in showbiz?
