Chinese actor Yan An (闫桉) didn’t ease into 2026 quietly. Instead, the rising actor found himself thrust straight onto China’s hot search after a now-deleted post titled Seven Questions for Yan An stirred up a storm online. The post accused the 25-year-old of having a chaotic private life, questionable professional conduct, and blurred boundaries with fans. Within hours, his name was trending everywhere — and Yan An chose to respond head-on, releasing a nearly 1,000-word statement written personally, line by line, addressing every single claim.

Since gaining attention for his supporting role in Blossom last year, Yan An has been on many casting radars. That growing visibility also meant heavier scrutiny. While some expected a short studio denial, what they got instead was a detailed, emotional, and unusually transparent explanation that immediately split opinions online.

Yan An didn’t dodge the controversy. In his long statement, he addressed all seven allegations directly, clarifying timelines, relationships, and decisions that had been taken out of context. 

Many netizens noted that the tone felt more like a personal letter than a PR script, with Yan An clearly stating that the statement was written by himself and that he would take full responsibility for every word.

His studio followed up with an official notice calling the accusations “seriously false,” confirming that infringing posts had been reported and evidence preserved for possible legal action. 

His agency, Youhug Media, also stood firmly behind him, stating that claims about transactional relationships or unethical behaviour were malicious fabrications.

One of the most talked-about claims suggested that Yan An’s team recruited obsessive fans. He flatly denied this, explaining that all staff members were formally hired. 

He also clarified that Ms Du, mentioned repeatedly in rumours, is actually his cousin, who joined the team in July 2025. A family photo was included to back this up.

Questions were also raised about his “low visibility” in film and TV projects. Yan An explained that throughout 2025, he focused on stage performances, variety shows, and live streaming, calling them valuable exposure opportunities while acknowledging that landing drama roles still requires intense competition.

Yan An Dominates Hot Search After Allegations

The pricing of his birthday fan event also drew criticism, particularly the 880 RMB ticket. Yan An responded by breaking down what was included: nine hours of activities, face-to-face signings, and a stage performance. 

He added that cheaper audience-only tickets were available and said he was open to feedback if the experience didn’t meet expectations.

Addressing safety concerns, Yan An revealed that in November 2025, crowd congestion at a train station nearly caused serious accidents when fans rushed towards him. Some gifts were later found to contain tracking devices, prompting him to suspend certain interactions for safety reasons.

For the first time, Yan An also directly addressed speculation about his personal life, clearly stating that he is straight and firmly denying claims that he gained opportunities through relationships or violated moral standards in any way.

Yan An Responds to Allegations, Says He Has Never Forgotten His Roots

Regarding a January 9 incident where fans felt ignored, he explained that confidentiality rules related to on-set styling meant he could only respond with a nod or a smile at the time.

As for smoking allegations, Yan An apologised for the negative impact of rumours and stated clearly that he has never smoked in public or non-smoking areas, adding that he understands the responsibility public figures carry

Reactions online remain mixed. Supporters praised Yan An for taking responsibility, calling his response rare in an industry where silence is often the default. 

Others remain sceptical, questioning whether clarity equals closure. A fan-led post accusing him of “forgetting his roots” continues to circulate, keeping discussions alive and emotionally charged.

What’s clear is that Yan An has chosen transparency over avoidance, placing his credibility directly in the hands of the public. Whether this response will fully calm the storm or keep debates burning is something only time — and public opinion — will decide.
