The curtain isn’t falling on Oshi no Ko (推しの子) anytime soon. If anything, the anime feels like it’s deliberately keeping the stage lights on. With Season 3 still rolling and the conversation getting louder by the week, fans aren’t asking if the story has more to tell, but when it’ll return again. The demand for Oshi no Ko Season 4 is real, and the clues scattered so far suggest this story is far from finished.

From a narrative point of view, Season 3 doesn’t feel like a stopping point. It plays more like a bridge, carefully setting up future conflicts rather than wrapping things neatly.

Several character arcs are clearly mid-journey, and the industry politics, secrets, and emotional tensions at the core of the series remain unresolved. For many viewers, that alone makes Season 4 feel less like a bonus and more like a necessity.

Behind the scenes, the signals are quietly encouraging. While there’s been no official renewal announcement, alleged comments from production staff hint that the story is “not over yet”.

Members of the main cast have also teased that the show’s strong performance, both domestically and overseas, has been impossible to ignore. High platform scores and steady audience growth suggest the series still has plenty of commercial pull, even by Shueisha standards.

That said, renewal is never straightforward. Shueisha-backed anime are often planned with limited runs, and multi-season continuations are still more the exception than the rule. Scheduling, staff availability, and long-term planning all play a role. Even if a Season 4 gets the green light, patience will be required.

Will Oshi no Ko Return for Season 4? Latest Renewal Signals

So, has Oshi no Ko been renewed for Season 4? As of now, no. There’s been no formal confirmation, no teaser visuals, and no production timeline released. Ratings details and final viewer numbers for Season 3 also haven’t been made public yet.

What we do know is that the anime remains one of the most talked-about titles of the year, with its online ratings continuing to climb. That alone keeps the door firmly open.

Story-wise, the series continues to lean into darker territory beneath the glittering surface of idol culture. Months after the release of POP IN 2, B-Komachi stands on the edge of a long-awaited breakthrough, largely driven by MEM-cho’s relentless behind-the-scenes hustle.

Aqua sharpens himself into a more complete performer, while Akane builds a solid reputation as a serious actress. Kana’s path feels more fragile, with doubt creeping in as the industry moves on without slowing down.

At the centre of it all, Ruby pushes forward with a dangerous clarity of purpose, using personas and calculated deception as tools in her pursuit of the truth surrounding Ai and Gorou.

This is exactly why fans believe Season 4 is inevitable. The emotional stakes are rising, not settling. Too many threads remain active, and the tone suggests escalation rather than closure.

Online reactions are split, but passionate. Optimistic fans argue that the anime’s global reach and consistent buzz make it a strong candidate to break Shueisha’s usual one-and-done pattern.

Others remain cautious, pointing out that popularity doesn’t always guarantee continuation, especially when cast and staff are in high demand elsewhere. Still, even the sceptics admit the series doesn’t feel finished.

As for release date rumours, industry watchers are floating late 2026 as the earliest realistic window for Oshi no Ko Season 4, if renewal happens within the next year. This timeline would allow for production breathing room while keeping momentum alive. Nothing is locked in, but it’s a timeframe fans are already circling.

For now, Oshi no Ko sits in a familiar but tense space: not renewed, not cancelled, and very much in demand. Whether Season 4 becomes reality will likely depend on sustained fan support, streaming performance, and how loudly the audience keeps asking for more.

Do you think the hype is strong enough to push it over the line, or should the story bow out gracefully after Season 3?
