Chinese actor and idol Yi Yangqianxi (Jackson Yee) is back in the spotlight, this time for a legal dispute involving alleged violations of his personality rights. The case has officially entered the court system and is already drawing attention across entertainment and business circles.

According to information disclosed by business data platform Tianyancha, the Hongjiang City People’s Court has formally issued a lawsuit document and court summons to Taizhou Benzhen Glasses Co., Ltd

The documents were delivered through a public announcement mechanism after standard delivery methods proved ineffective.

Jackson Yee Files Lawsuit Against Eyewear Company

Under legal procedure, the summons and lawsuit papers are considered legally received 30 days after the announcement date. 

The court has confirmed that the hearing for this case is scheduled to take place on 5 March 2026, with Jackson Yee acting as the plaintiff in a personality rights dispute.

In the lawsuit, Jackson Yee has requested the court to order the defendant to immediately stop infringing on his portrait rights and name rights.

He is also seeking a public apology from the company, alongside compensation covering economic losses and reasonable rights-protection costs. 

The total amount claimed reaches 505,000 yuan/92k SGD.

The People’s Court of Hongjiang City, Hunan Province, hereby announces to Taizhou Benlan Glasses Co., Ltd:

This court has accepted the case of a personality rights dispute filed by the plaintiff, Yi Yangqianxi, against your company. In accordance with the law, the court now serves the copy of the statement of claim to you via public announcement. The main claims are as follows:

  1. To order the defendant to immediately cease the infringing acts of using the plaintiff’s portrait and name, and to stop all violations of the plaintiff’s portrait rights and name rights.

  2. To order the defendant to issue a public apology to the plaintiff. The apology shall be prominently displayed at the top position of the homepage of the involved Tmall store “Benlan Flagship Store”, the JD.com store “Ben (BERZEEN) Official Flagship Store”, and published in the People’s Court Daily.
    The apology content must include the case number of this judgment and clearly state the specific infringing acts involving the plaintiff’s portrait and name rights.
    The online apology must remain visible for no less than 30 days.
    The newspaper apology must occupy an area no smaller than 6.0 cm × 9.0 cm (business card size, prominent position) and be published no fewer than 10 times.

  3. To order the defendant to compensate the plaintiff for economic losses and reasonable rights-protection expenses, totalling RMB 505,000.

  4. To order the defendant to bear the case acceptance fee.

This announcement also serves the Notice of Response, Notice of Evidence Submission, Statement of Rights and Obligations, Clean Governance Supervision Card, and Court Summons. These documents shall be deemed legally served 30 days from the date of this announcement.
The deadline for submitting a defence statement and evidence is 15 days after the announcement period expires.

The case is scheduled to be heard at 9:00 a.m. on 5 March 2026 at the Anjiang Court of this court. Failure to appear will result in a judgment rendered in absentia in accordance with the law.
