Behind the elegant costumes and intense romance of Glory, the atmosphere on set was a lot more playful than viewers might expect. Gulinazha has recently shared candid behind-the-scenes stories from the drama, revealing how laughter, chemistry, and small creative choices helped shape the emotional core of the series. Her comments quickly caught attention, not just for their honesty, but for how naturally they explained the spark audiences feel on screen.

Appearing on Sohu Video’s variety programme Fox Factory Star, Gulinazha opened up about her experience working on Glory alongside Hou Minghao. She revealed that her decision to join the project came directly from an invitation by writer-producer Yu Zheng.

After reading the script, she was instantly drawn to the world of the story and, more importantly, to her character Rong Shanbao. To Nazha, Rong Shanbao is sharp-minded, emotionally steady, and unafraid to take control of her own choices, a personality that stood out from typical romance heroines.

When preparing for the role, Gulinazha paid close attention to subtle acting details. She explained that Rong Shanbao’s emotions are often communicated through her eyes rather than dialogue, meaning any small mistake in expression could change how the audience reads a scene.

Even hand movements were carefully considered, as Gulinazha wanted the character to feel layered, confident, and alive rather than overly polished.

Gulinazha also shared that she was genuinely excited to work with Hou Minghao. Since they already knew each other before filming, there was no stiff adjustment period. This familiarity allowed them to settle into their roles quickly and build chemistry without forcing it.

According to Nazha, that comfort translated naturally into their scenes together.

In the drama, Hou Minghao plays Lu Jianglai, a character Gulinazha jokingly described as the “most tea” type. Online, this term refers to someone who looks gentle and harmless on the surface but is actually highly strategic.

While Lu Jianglai starts off calculating, Gulinazha noted that his actions remain logically consistent, making him more intriguing rather than irritating. As the story progresses, his layered personality becomes part of his charm.

Why Glory Kiss Scenes Kept Getting Interrupted Guli Nazha Shares Set Stories

Off camera, however, Hou Minghao is far from calculating. Gulinazha revealed that he laughs very easily, especially during intimate scenes.

Kiss scenes, in particular, were the hardest to keep serious. The closer and more intense the interaction became, the more likely Hou Minghao was to break into laughter, often forcing scenes to be restarted.

Nazha recalled one emotionally charged kiss scene where both actors felt shy at first. To keep things on track, she had to firmly remind Hou Minghao not to laugh, knowing that once one person breaks, the entire take falls apart. It became a quiet rule between them to hold it together for the sake of the scene.

She also shared a fun detail about the now-talked-about confession scene involving a shoe-kicking moment. That idea, Gulinazha revealed, came from her. She felt that having Lu Jianglai carefully remove his shoes would interrupt the emotional rhythm.

Since Rong Shanbao is portrayed as bold and straightforward, Nazha decided it made more sense for her to kick the shoes herself. The director jokingly called it “too daring,” especially when some early takes sent the shoes flying farther than expected.

Following the interview, fan and netizen reactions were mixed but lively. Many praised Nazha for her professionalism and attention to detail, saying it explains why Rong Shanbao feels so convincing on screen. Others found Hou Minghao’s laughter habit charming, calling it proof of a relaxed and healthy set atmosphere.

Some viewers even said the behind-the-scenes stories made rewatching romantic scenes more enjoyable, knowing how hard the actors worked to stay in character. A smaller group felt surprised by how playful the set sounded, but still agreed that the final result felt emotionally grounded.

Overall, Gulinazha’s stories highlight how trust, comfort, and mutual respect between co-stars can elevate a romance drama beyond scripted lines. Now that these behind-the-scenes moments are out in the open, viewers are seeing Glory from a fresh angle. What do you think, does knowing these details make the romance feel more real, or does it change how you watch the scenes?
