Veteran Hong Kong entertainer Eric Tsang has officially confirmed his departure from TVB’s General Manager role, marking the end of a significant chapter in the broadcaster’s modern history. The announcement came during the 2026 TVB Anniversary/Presentation Awards, turning what was meant to be a celebratory night into a quietly emotional farewell.
Held on 4 January 2026, the annual TVB Anniversary Awards honoured the network’s most influential stars of the year.
Towards the end of the ceremony, organisers surprised the audience with a tribute segment dedicated to Eric, presenting him with the “Glorious Legend of a Thousand Stars” honour — a recognition widely viewed as a lifetime achievement award within the TVB system.
