Japanese boy group #Lovesick sent its fandom into a whirlwind on 7 December 2025 after officially confirming that Hayate, one of the group’s founding members, will be graduating on 2 February 2026. The announcement was made alongside details of his final activities, timed with his birthday celebration at Zepp Haneda.

Formed in November 2023 and debuting in January 2024 under RINDO Entertainment, Lovesick has grown into a nine-member act featuring Sakura, leader Uto, Yuson, Taiyo, Etsuya, Hayate, Ryo, Satsuki, and Taro.

Hayate is said to be well known for his good singing voice. With Hayate stepping away, the group marks its first major lineup change since launch.

Lovesick Confirms Hayate’s Departure Amid Private Account Rumours

According to the official statement, Hayate’s participation from now until his graduation will be limited to just two remaining shows:

– the RINDO LIVE Christmas Special on 25 December 2025 at Tachikawa Stage Garden
– his birthday and graduation live on 2 February 2026 at Zepp Haneda

All other scheduled dates have been cancelled, with fans offered refunds via Google Forms, valid until the eve of each respective show.

Before joining Lovesick, Hayate was previously part of Scapegoat from October 2021 until his graduation from the group in June 2023. He was then unveiled as one of Lovesick’s founding members in late November that year.

Now aged 20, the Pisces-born performer stands at 180 cm and has remained one of the group’s most recognisable figures thanks to his calm stage aura and close bond with fans.

Hayate’s Personal Message: Honest, Heavy, and Heartfelt

Shortly after the agency’s announcement, Hayate released a long personal statement on social media, thanking fans for their support and explaining the difficulty behind his decision.

He shared that he had been struggling with days when he couldn’t perform the way he wished, creating an internal conflict between giving his all and facing the reality of his limitations. Rather than risk slowing the group’s progress or causing repeated concern, he chose to step away with gratitude and respect.

Hayate expressed deep appreciation for every encouraging message, every memory made with the members, and every moment fans continued to stay by him.

He apologised for the confusion caused by the sudden news but emphasised that this decision comes from wanting the group to grow without holding back its momentum.

He ended by asking fans to continue supporting both himself and the group in the future, promising to give his best until the very last performance.

While the official statement keeps it brief by citing health reasons as the basis for Hayate’s graduation, fans can’t help linking the timing to a recent situation earlier this month, when his private account was exposed by Japanese netizens, sparking heavy online chatter.

Although neither the group nor the agency has addressed this angle directly, many observers believe the incident may have played a significant part in accelerating discussions around his exit, adding another layer of complexity to an already emotional farewell

As expected, the news triggered a flood of emotional responses across Twitter. Fans spoke openly about their surprise, with many admitting they needed time to process the announcement.

But alongside the shock came an overwhelming wave of appreciation — messages celebrating Hayate’s work, his warmth, and the sincerity he’s shown throughout Lovesick’s journey.

Several fans shared that they are determined to attend Hayate's final two lives, framing them as a bittersweet celebration of everything he’s brought to the group since its debut. Others highlighted how quickly Lovesick rose within the idol scene, making the timing of his graduation feel even more poignant.
