Koichi Domoto has officially announced his marriage, marking a major personal milestone at the close of 2025. The veteran Japanese idol, singer, and actor shared the news on 28 December 2025, confirming that he has married Sato Megumi, a former actress who has since stepped away from the entertainment industry.

Because Sato Megumi retired from show business, Japanese media have described her as a “non-celebrity spouse,” a label that reflects her current private life rather than her past career.

The couple are reported to have begun dating in 2023, with earlier magazine reports suggesting that Sato had already decided to leave the industry ahead of their future together.

Koichi Domoto Shares Marriage Announcement With Fans at Year End

Koichi Domoto released a formal statement through STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, addressing fans and industry partners with a tone of appreciation and calm reflection. Framed as a year-end message, he thanked supporters for their continued kindness and shared that he wished to personally report this life update to those who have supported his journey so far.

He stressed that his gratitude remains at the centre of everything he does and reassured fans that marriage would not change his commitment to his work.

Koichi Domoto added that he intends to approach each project with even greater sincerity, valuing every connection he has built over the years.

Now 46, Koichi Domoto’s career spans more than 30 years.

He entered the entertainment world at just 12 years old and debuted as part of KinKi Kids in 1997, quickly becoming one of the defining figures of Japanese pop culture. Beyond music, he has built a strong reputation in theatre, especially through the long-running musical SHOCK, where he has served not only as lead actor but also as creator and director.

Even after announcing this personal milestone, Koichi Domoto made it clear that his professional focus remains unchanged.

His statement highlighted a steady desire to grow, create, and honour the trust placed in him by fans and collaborators alike.

Both KinKi Kids Members Are Now Married

With this announcement, both members of the iconic duo have now entered married life.

Earlier, in January 2024, Domoto’s longtime partner in KinKi Kids, Tsuyoshi Domoto, revealed his marriage to singer Kanako Momota.

Fans have since described this moment as a “full-circle chapter” for the duo, who have shared nearly their entire adult lives in the public eye.

The timing also comes during a period of transition for the group, which announced plans to move forward under the name DOMOTO in 2025, signalling both continuity and renewal.

While the marriage itself has been kept intentionally low-key, Domoto’s words reflect maturity, stability, and deep respect for the people who have walked alongside him throughout his career.

Rather than framing the announcement as a dramatic change, he positioned it as a natural continuation of life — one supported by gratitude and responsibility.

As fans digest the news, many are reflecting on how rare it is to see such a long-standing figure balance privacy with openness in a way that feels genuine and grounded.
