KLP48, Malaysia’s official sister group of Japan’s AKB48, has found itself under intense public scrutiny following a conduct issue involving six of its first-generation members.

On 19 December 2025, KLP48 Management released an official statement confirming that Yi Shyan, Amanda, Ann Drea, Hillary, Khalies, and Salwa had violated the group’s internal rules. 

While the announcement did not detail the exact nature of the breach, management stressed that the matter was treated seriously and resulted in a strict official warning being formally recorded.

According to the statement, any repeat offence may lead to stronger disciplinary measures, including possible suspension, demotion, or even termination from the group.

The screenshots also appeared to show Pucchi, a former JKT48 member who is now working as part of KLP48’s staff team, issuing a warning within the chat — adding another layer of attention to the situation.

While management has neither confirmed nor denied the authenticity of the screenshots, the timing of the statement has led many fans to link the two.

The official announcement deliberately avoided naming the specific conduct issue, instead urging members to reflect and fans to avoid speculation. However, that approach has produced mixed reactions.

Some fans praised KLP48 for handling the issue internally without escalating it publicly, arguing that private matters should remain private. 

Others questioned whether a recorded warning alone was sufficient, especially given how quickly the issue spread online.

Several replies under the announcement called for greater transparency, while others reminded fellow fans not to fuel gossip or pressure the members further.

Management Draws a Firm Line

Despite the vagueness, KLP48 Management made one thing clear: this warning is now on record. Any future violation will trigger immediate and harsher action.

The statement closed with a reminder that KLP48 expects its members to demonstrate growth through their future behaviour, while asking fans to continue offering support rather than engaging in online speculation.

For now, the six members remain active, but the situation has become a defining moment for KLP48 as the group continues to build its identity on the regional idol stage.
