SNH48’s Popularity Queen Yang Bingyi Launches Retro-Style Solo EP ‘Unnamed Breeze’

SNH48 star Yang Bingyi has officially kicked off her solo era with the release of her first physical EP, ‘I Know You Know’, a special reward following her win at the 12th SNH48 General Election, where she secured the title of Annual Peak Popularity Queen 2025.

The EP, also referred to by its poetic Chinese name ‘Unnamed Breeze’, gathers one brand-new original track and two reinterpreted songs, all wrapped in a warm retro soundscape. The release is positioned as a small but meaningful milestone marking Yang Bingyi’s steady artistic growth across more than a decade in the industry.

A Retro Spin with a Personal Touch

Fresh Music Era for Yang Bingyi as Solo EP and Tour Dates Confirmed

The title track ‘I Know You Know’ was composed by Japanese musician Nakamura Takahito, who crafted the song exclusively for Yang Bingyi.

It leans into a breezy city-pop groove — light, rhythmic, and nostalgic — while showcasing a fresh side to her vocals.

The lyrics highlight the close, familiar connection between Yang Bingyi and the fans who have supported her since the early theatre days.

It carries a message of freedom and optimism, almost like a private conversation set to music.

Alongside the main single, the EP includes ‘Back to School Day’ and ‘Four Seasons’, both reinterpretations chosen as a heartfelt thank-you to fans who have stood beside her through different stages of her career.

Together, the three tracks reflect her ten-plus-year journey, marking not just her evolution as an idol, but also the emotional milestones that shaped her.

Promotional notes for the EP describe every “unnamed night breeze” after she sings as something that gently pushes her towards a wider future.

It’s a fitting metaphor for an idol stepping into a new phase of artistic expression.

Music Video Drops 22 November

The MV for ‘I Know You Know’ is set for release on 22 November, coinciding with the opening night of Yang Bingyi’s solo tour in Chengdu.

The video reportedly takes on a relaxed, colourful style, capturing the bond between an idol and her supporters.

The visual theme hints at bright tones, youthful energy, and the idea that shared dreams produce a better tomorrow for both sides.

It also nods to Yang Bingyi’s early days, when she first stepped from empty training rooms to the theatre stage, driven by the encouragement she once saw on television.

Solo Tour Set to Begin

Alongside the EP launch, Yang Bingyi will kick off her ‘I Know You Know’ Solo Tour. Styled as a lively, comic-inspired concept, the tour promises a vibrant blend of vocals and choreography, aiming to bring fans closer than ever.
